This project will address the non-conforming, physical ADA barriers to the greatest extent feasible and where applicable under code provisions. Phase 1 addressed barriers in the Charlotte Mecklenburg Government Center Chamber Space, while this Phase 2 addresses all other spaces, including the adjacent parking garage. Scope areas include Exterior Plaza, Entrance Lobby, 2nd Floor Mezzanine and the 14-story Highrise. Specific scope includes, but is not limited to, Partitions, Doors and Door Hardware, Ramps, Millwork, Restrooms, Controlled Access, Obstructions, Plaza Deck and Accessible Routes. The project delivery method will be Construction Manager at Risk. A separate RFQ will be solicited for these services.

The Charlotte Douglas International Airport uses a Fixed Base Operator (FBO) for the operation, management and facilitation of general aviation properties and services for private, recreational, and other aircraft. These services will be set up for a multi-year period that is to be determined.

The project is a study of the current City of Charlotte Solid Waste collection process, the existing facilities for the processing of solid waste, and future needs that include providing strategic locations for additional facilities. The consultant needs to be able to make recommendations as well as have the resources to design a facility.
The selected firm will review the Solid Waste collection process and develop a master plan for how services should be provided throughout the City of Charlotte. This will include identifying possible locations for facilities, the make-up of facilities, and co-location opportunities with other new or existing City facilities.

In June 2018, the Sustainable and Resilient Charlotte by 2050 Resolution was unanimously passed by City Council. This resolution set aggressive and aspirational municipal and community-wide greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals for the City of Charlotte. Specifically, it strives to have City fleet and facilities be fueled by 100% zero-carbon sources by 2030. The CDOT Sweden Rd facility currently contains many fleet vehicles and buses that are run on gasoline. In order to meet the 2030 target, the City has begun and will continue purchasing Electric Vehicles (EV’s) and equip the CDOT Sweden Rd Facility with EV Chargers.

In order to meet the 2030 target, The City has begun and will continue purchasing Electric Vehicles (EV’s) and equip the N. Davidson CATS facility with EV Chargers.
This will be for a construction contract utilized for sanitary sewer rehab and repairs. Work will be focused on failed or failing sanitary sewer collection system assets. Work performed for this contract will help prevent future sanitary sewer overflows.
