Service Water Improvements and Flow Meter Modifications
This project includes significant improvements to the existing service water system at the Franklin Water Treatment Plant. The scope of work involves the replacement of existing pumps, piping, valves, and backflow devices within the service water system. Additionally, new flow meters will be installed on the Franklin Water Treatment Plant service water system, while existing flow meters on the filter effluent lines at the Lee S. Dukes Water Treatment Plant will also be replaced. These upgrades are expected to enhance the accuracy of flow measurements and improve the efficiency of the service water system.

Arrowood at Whitehall Commons Intersection
This is an intersection project which will involve installing a new traffic signal with pedestrian signals, widening some of the approaches, replacing all curb ramps, mill & overlay, and pavement markings. The traffic signal will use steel strain poles.

The City’s Fleet Management Division is seeking to establish a relationship with an Allison authorized company to provide transmission services for vehicles and equipment owned by various departments within the City of Charlotte.

Faulconbridge Rd 5749 Project
Project consists of lining 556 LF of 42 inch CMP and 131 LF of 15 inch RCP with CIPP. Eight existing drainage structures will be removed and replaced and two additional structures will be added. 221 LF of 15″ RCP will be removed and replaced. Chemical grouting joint repair will also be installed at approx. 15 locations throughout the 42″ CMP.

Provides for the rehabilitation of 10 to 12 sanitary sewer lift stations. Modernization of electrical and controls, installation of flow measurement equipment and miscellaneous safety and security upgrades as deemed needed on a per site basis. |

FY25 Large Service Contract #1 – CANCELLED
This contract is for the continuous installation of large water and sewer services, as needed, for commercial or residential purposes with a diameter of one and a half inches or larger. Customers apply for quotes for service connection and pay the applicable fees to get into the construction queue. This contract will help meet the demand for these kinds of service connections for the next two years.

FY25 Small Service Contract #1 – CANCELLED
This contract is for water and sanitary sewer service installations including connection to the existing public main, which extends a small diameter line to the property, and includes a water meter box or sanitary sewer cleanout. Customers pay connection fees for the installation service, which is based on costs incurred by Charlotte Water in these contracts. The work covered by this contract will provide approximately 800 total services.

This project will construct a shared-use path along the west side of Old Concord Road from Meadow Vista Road to Arlyn Circle. Construction of driveway improvements and wheelchair ramps are included in this scope. The construction of the shared-use path will help to improve safety and walking conditions for citizens along this minor thoroughfare. This project will also connect several miles of pedestrian walkways within this area. Old Concord Road Shared-Use Path is considered a high priority project based on CDOT’s sidewalk Priority list and was requested by the residents and business owners in the area. Improvements for Charlotte Water are also included in the project scope. Project Length= .85 miles.
