The City of Charlotte (the “City”) is seeking proposals from qualified firm(s) for the design, fabrication, installation, and operation of digital kiosks in the public right-of-way. The kiosks will be primarily located on sidewalks, and other public areas as approved by the City, and serve the following public purposes, at a minimum:

1. Wayfinding – providing information to civic and cultural institutions, transit amenities, restaurants, retail and other business
2. Transit information – providing information on transit routes and schedule options
3. Public information and emergency messaging – serving as a central dissemination point for information
4. Increased vibrancy and visual interest of City streets – promoting placemaking in Charlotte through City events and programming
5. Create a supportive environment for retail and entertainment commerce – furthering economic development within our community
6. Enhance visitor experience and brand perception of Charlotte – advancing Charlotte’s narrative and brand perception to residents and visitors alike
7. Accessibility, usability and inclusion – creating a welcoming and inclusive technology for our community at large

The project involves the procurement of a new primary clarifier mechanism to replace the existing mechanism in Primary Clarifier #5 at the McDowell Creek Water Resource Recovery Facility. An existing space within Charlotte Douglas International Airport, located just off the connector on the Ticketing Level between Concourse A and Concourse A Phase 1, is being renovated to support a new MEDIC Breakroom. The space to be renovated has a combination of rubber tile floor/terrazzo, painted drywall, roll-up door, and acoustical tile ceilings. The new space will have kitchenette millwork with a sink, storeroom with shelving, new porcelain tile ADA restroom with sink, toilet, shower and associated plumbing, electrical and data outlets, new lighting, new water heater and new ductwork. The majority of the work will be performed on Ticketing Level within Security Identification Display Area (SIDA). Some plumbing and data work will be performed from Ramp Level within SIDA adjacent and above a baggage handling system makeup carousel.

The purpose of the Coffey Creek Environmental Mitigation bid is to establish a lump sum contract with a qualified contractor to construct the features and components of the Corrective Action Plan that has been designed by WSP, (as Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions, Inc.) (the “CAP Design”) for the former U.S. Airways Maintenance Hangar site located at 5020 Hangar Road in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina on behalf of Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). The CAP Design (dated October 20, 2022) was submitted to the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) for review. NCDEQ issued a Notice of Regulatory Requirements (NORR) letter (dated November 30, 2022) indicating approval of the Corrective Action Plan (CAP).

This project consists of street resurfacing and its associated functions throughout the City of Charlotte. Resurfacing is not limited geographically as the possibility exists for paving to be performed anywhere within the city. The project includes traffic control, asphalt and concrete pavement milling, asphalt paving, base failure repair, asphalt surface treatment, utility adjustments, manhole frame and cover replacements, wheelchair ramp installation, sidewalk, curb repairs, bike program elements, and pavement markings.
