CATS FY 19 | 20 Vanpool Vehicle Purchase
Charlotte Area Transit will be conducting a solicitation for the purchase of Vanpool vehicles. Nineteen of the vehicles will be 7 passengers carpool vans. Ten vehicles will be 10 passenger vans. Twenty-five vehicles will be 15 passenger one ton carpool vans and eighteen vehicles will be SUVs. Specifications will be provided in the solicitation.

Zone 4 Field Operations Center (Construction Manager-at-Risk)
The proposed Zone 4 project will include a 36,000 sf operations center, approximately 20,000 sf of pre-engineered metal structures to house open storage, crew storage, raw materials bunkers, two (2) combination trucks, fabrication shop, and two (2) fleet maintenance bays. The project will also include demolition of existing facilities in a phased approach so as to minimally impact or impede current operations on the site. The project may also include roadway improvements to West Tyvola Road to increase accessibility to the site.
Rodgers Builders was selected as the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) for this project.

The city is seeking qualified vendors to provide Class 7 and 8 truck cab/chassis repair services for city-owned vehicles. The city fleet includes trucks from the following manufacturers:

Charlotte Water will be soliciting bids from interested companies for the purchase of two Mettler-Toledo T5 Excellence titrators, accessories, and consumables for its Laboratory Services Division.
This equipment will allow for quantitative chemical analysis to determine the concentration of an identified substance in a sample.

Bus Operations Portable Lift Repairs
Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) is requesting proposals for PM and repair services for our portable vehicle lifts. CATS operates approximately 5 sets (20 units) of wired and wireless Stertil Koni portable vehicle lifts in its two facilities. The facilities are located at 3145 South Tryon and 900 North Davidson St, Charlotte NC.

3145 S. Tryon st. Chiller Replacement Project
Replace existing 160 Ton Air-cooled chiller with two smaller chiller units. One fore the Admin building and the other to support BOD Maintenance and body shops. This project is in response to failed chilled water piping the currently feeds the admin building. We currently have a rental chiller that is supplying the Admin building.

Project cancelled as services recently solicited and Aviation will be partnering w/ City’s for contracted services.
Aviation owns and operates more than 450 vehicles and pieces of equipment. The scope of this contract shall be to provide comprehsive vehicle collison repairs and related specialty services.

Bus Transaxle Reconditioning Services
The Company shall supply quality, trained professionals to properly diagnose, test, disassemble, clean, and/or replace OE parts as needed and reassemble. The Company is required to use genuine Meritor parts and employees certified to rebuild the differential. To help reduce turn-around time, the Company shall keep one differential (per part number) on hand. The Company will be required to return the reconditioned item or items to our facilities within twenty-four (24) hours of pick up.

Charlotte Water is using a Pretreatment application that was purchased approximately ten years ago. Over time, technology has progressed, and Pretreatment systems have become more robust. Further, Environmental Protection Agency guidelines are moving towards electronic submissions by industries monitored by the Pretreatment program. Last, mobile solutions, Geographic Information Systems, and data analytics are more widely available within software solutions. Charlotte Water seeks a software solution that will promote an efficient and compliant Pretreatment program that meets City, State, and Federal laws and regulations.
