Charlotte Area Transit System’s Rail Division is requesting bids for a new automated vertical storage unit for the South Blvd Light Rail Facility. This will include the replacement and removal the existing unit, which is approximately 25 years old. This bid submission shall include design, delivery and installation.
The scope of this Invitation to Bid (ITB) is to establish a contract for the purchase, delivery, and other inherently related activities of the automated vertical shuttle storage unit and in compliance with the specifications and terms and conditions set forth in this ITB.

Company shall charge commercially reasonable fees to customers, using its expertise to balance the need to be competitive and to maintain profitability to the City. The Services shall be provided twenty four hours per day.

Creative Services for Storm Water Services
In compliance with the EPA’s Clean Water Act and FEMA’s Community Rating System, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services (CMSWS) works to raise awareness of stormwater, flood safety, and the effects of individual behavior on surface water quality throughout the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. CMSWS conducts the water quality, flood safety, and volunteer educational campaigns specifically to:
(1) increase public awareness of surface water quality issues, flood risks and flood safety;
(2) increase public action/volunteer efforts that reduce surface water pollution;
(3) increase reporting of surface water pollution problems;
(4) satisfy a Federal requirement to increase public awareness and involvement in activities aimed to reduce stormwater pollution; and
(5) satisfy a Federal requirement to increase public awareness and involvement aimed to protect lives and property from flooding.
In addition to current campaigns, CMSWS is considering a new educational campaign to increase public awareness of aging storm drainage infrastructure and the importance of repairing and replacing infrastructure to support a thriving city. CMSWS is also interested in enhancing communications to effectively describe the impacts of our work and to contribute to the campaign goals described above.

The Building Services Division of the General Services Department/Engineering and Project Management is responsible for maintaining a portfolio of approximately 180 buildings, including offices, fire stations, police division offices, and equipment shops, that house various City activities. The City also maintains cultural facilities, including museums and arenas that serve as venues for sports, entertainment, and other events. This service would provide routine preventive maintenance, repair services, and load bank testing (Services) for approximately 120 standby generators, ranging in size from 25 KW to 1500 KW, located at various City facilities (Project). Brand names include CAT, Generac, Kohler, Cummins, and MTU. These generators provide emergency electric service to vital facilities when commercial electric service is not available. The importance of the readiness of these standby generators is imperative to protect the health and wellbeing of residents of the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. The City is seeking firms whose combination of experience and expertise will provide professional, timely, and cost-effective services to the City.

Automatic Lighting Controls Maintenance and Services
The proposed contract is to provide installation, maintenance, and programming services for Automatic Lighting controls in City facilities that are not part of an integrated Building Automation System. All control systems require maintenance and confirmation that they are still functioning correctly. Lighting controls may include occupancy sensors, timelocks, and photocells, relays, light control switches, or touchscreens. Lighting control systems should be inspected and cleaned to ensure proper operation. Reporting of deficiencies, troubleshooting, and programming modifications may be needed.

7141 Star Valley Drive Storm Drainage Improvement Project
Storm Drainage Improvement Project. The purpose and need for the Project is to improve the storm drainage infrastructure (i.e. pipe systems and culverts) to reduce flooding and to enhance degraded stream reaches to reduce erosion and improve water quality.
The purpose of the project is to repair approximately 700 linear feet of stream restoration between 2 different tributaries. Failing structure will be replaced or repaired such that they function as originally intended. Repairs will be performed with minimal disturbance to buffer vegetation and vegetation of appropriate size will be re-established after repairs are completed. Repairs will include but not limited to, removing and resetting boulders and logs for in-stream structures and adding or repairing constructed riffles.
