MOW Traction Power Substation Battery Replacement
The CATS LYNX Light Rail system maintains 26 traction power substations that provide 750VDC overhead power to the Blue Line Alignment. Each of these locations require a stand-by battery system to that is designed to power critical control circuits for up to 8 hours in the event of a utility power failure.
Each bank consists of 10 Marathon M12V90 AGM sealed lead-acid batteries, now obsolete, replaced by the CSB HRL12330W. There are 12 locations where the batteries have been in service past the 5-year recommended replacement interval.
The scope of work will be to replace 120 batteries of comparable type (insert new battery info here or above) and perform preventive maintenance and inspection of each battery charger in Traction Power Substations 3,5,7,9, 12-17, 18 and 20.
1. Isolation of the battery bank from the TPSS
2. Disconnection and removal of the existing batteries from the rack
3. Inspection of the existing hardware for defects and correcting any deficiencies
4. Installing the new batteries
5. Torquing all fasteners to the appropriate values
6. Perform battery charger preventive maintenance and inspection
6. Verify and document in-service voltage and ampacity of each cell and the complete bank
7. Restore all TPSS control power equipment to its original configuration and verifying proper operation
8. Removal and proper disposal of the old batteries.
The contractor will be required to have all employees working on the project successfully complete a
Roadway Worker Protection (RWPP) course which will be provided by CATS free of charge. MOW will
provide access to the work locations and escort contract personnel while they are in the performance of
their duties.

Vanpool has requested CATS Marketing assist them with billboard advertising. CATS is seeking billboard advertising space to promote its vanpool program. Desired locations include: I-77 North from Rock Hill to Clanton Rd. I-77 South from Mooresville to Sunset Rd. I-85 South from Concord to Sugar Creek I-85 North from Gastonia to Wilkinson Blvd. Quote must include printing and installation for a two-month period. Vendor to provide traffic counts and photos of locations. CATS will provide camera ready artwork.

Mallard Creek Road Intelligent Transportation System Project
The Mallard Creek Road ITS Project includes the installation of approximately 0.65 miles of fiber optic cable in new directionally bored and trenched conduit and aerial attachments to wood utility poles. This project includes the installation of 1 owner furnished traffic management camera. This project also includes fiber splicing and testing. The project limits are from Medical Plaza to Governor Hunt Drive in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, NC.

Terminal Building D/E Connector Renovations & Addition
The project of renovations of the D/E Connector, starting at the Atrium and encompassing the primary circulation path of the eastern portion of the Passenger Terminal Building to the end of the existing moving walkways and all areas south of that path, up to the Concourse C Connector. The project includes the following:
a) Repositioning the major passenger circulation route of the D/E connector between the Atrium to the end of the moving walkways at the approach of Concourse D;
b) Relocating the airline lounge space from the departure level to an upper-level location while expanding it to 40,000 square feet;
c) Providing a new passenger destination and experience at the departures level that will provide increased financial returns to the airport; and
d) Providing service area at the apron level to help with operations within the DECO area.

FY23 Small Diameter Water/Sewer Service Contract #2
This contract is for water and sanitary sewer service installations including connection to the existing public main, which extends a small diameter line to the property. Additionally, a water meter box or sanitary sewer cleanout is included. Customers pay connection fees for the installation service, which is based on costs incurred by Charlotte Water in these contracts. The work covered by this contract will provide approximately 800 total services.

Park Ave Crossing at Grade Renewal
PSR 1291
Park Avenue Road crossing is experiencing a degraded roadbed infrastructure issue that is affecting the safe passage of pedestrians. If a crossing renewal is not made, the roadbed substructure will continue to degrade which would affect the safe passage of vehicular and LRV traffic. Park Avenue Road crossing is a tub system in which crossing tubs are placed on a graded, compacted roadbed, rails are housed with a concrete insert that secures the rails through the grade crossing.
Two customers submitted this project under slightly different titles. This entry is redundant of the “Ashe Plantation Phase II” project. Please delete this one.
Construction of a new wastewater treatment plant in South Mecklenburg County near Mint Hill. The construction consists of process piping, wastewater equipment installation, and electrical power and controls. The project shall also include provision of a temporary treatment plant during construction of the new plant.
