The City of Charlotte Department of Transportation (CDOT) is responsible for the removal of snow and ice on City maintained streets.  Additional resources are needed to clear streets during extraordinary winter weather events. Contractors  provide additional dump truck and plowing equipment with licensed operators to supplement City services.

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) requires the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) to inspect all light-rail bridges, elevated stations, walls, and culverts and stay current every two years.  There is also a 5-year inspection cycle for all parking decks. CATS is seeking a contractor to perform these services under a 6-year contract.

CATS is requesting a 5-year contract for  Maintenance of Way Blue Line Extension (BLE) traction control and traction power parts and service repairs. The construction company awarded the BLE used various rail manufacturer parts during the installation.

Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) Art in Transit is inviting qualified conservators to submit proposals to evaluate and restore a sculpture by the late artist, Dennis Oppenheim. The mixed media sculpture was installed at the Tyvola Station on the LYNX Blue Line Light Rail in 2007.

The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to identify a qualified conservation professional and select the candidate with expertise needed to restore the sculpture to the artist’s original intent.

CATS is a department of the City of Charlotte, who owns and operates the City’s public transportation modes including light rail, streetcar, and bus transit. Art in Transit (AiT) is a program within CATS that is dedicated to the integration of public art within CATS’ capital projects. Art in Transit is responsible for coordination and oversight of the installation as well as
the care and maintenance of the CATS Public Art collection.

Protective gloves are necessary to provide appropriate safeguards for City employees. Departments require a wide variety of materials designed for many types of workplace hazards. Employee safety and productivity are enhanced by additional application requirements for performance, fit and comfort.   Medical gloves are a critical supply item for the Charlotte Fire Department and are carried on all fire trucks to be used when treating individuals with medical emergencies.   It is critical from a risk management standpoint that firefighters wear an approved glove that provides a high degree of protection.

The scope of this Request for Quote (RFQ) is to establish a contract for the purchase and delivery of protective and medical gloves within fourteen (14) calendar days from the placement of order.

This solicitation will be distributed to the City’s Small Business Enterprise (SBE) confirmed vendor list for  Protective and Medical Gloves.

The City of Charlotte is seeking a qualified provider of Refuse Truck Body Repair Services to work in conjunction with Fleet Management. The Company shall perform maintenance, and repair services on fleet refuse truck body equipment owned, operated, or maintained by the City.

This project will extend the Cross Charlotte Trail main alignment from  N. Tryon Street to Orr Road with additional connectors to the surrounding area.

This will be an invitation to bid for construction that will consist of cured-in-place pipe lining, manhole rehab, and a sewer diversion structure. The diversion consists of 200-300 linear feet of sewer pipe and several new manholes. A procurement officer has already been assigned to this.

This project will build bike facilities in several different locations throughout the Elizabeth neighborhood to create safer conditions and improve ease of travel for cyclists and pedestrians, including approximately 2.1 miles of sharrows, modernization of two existing rectangular rapid flashing beacons, replacement of 10 wheelchair ramps, a new pedestrian crossing at Pecan Avenue and Shenandoah Avenue, implementation of new bike detection cameras, a new full traffic signal at Bascom Street and 7th Street, and a curb extension located at the intersection of Pecan Avenue and 8th Street.
