Waste Removal and Container Rental Services – The Company shall provide Charlotte Area Transit System with collection of disposal services for its non-hazardous waste and cardboard recyclables and provides rental containers at (5) Charlotte Area Transit System locations throughout Mecklenburg County. The Company is responsible for providing container rental, waste collection and disposal services of Waste and Recyclables for Charlotte Area Transit System. Each location may have multiple waste container requirements and service requirements.

Guardrail Installation & Repairs
This contract is for GUARDRAIL INSTALLATION & REPAIRS ON VARIOUS ROADS, AS NEEDED, UPON REQUEST IN THE CITY OF CHARLOTTE. The Engineer and or designee will designate maintenance and repair of guardrail at various locations in the city. The maintenance and repair of guardrail throughout the city will vary on the amount of existing or damaged guardrail on each route and should take this into consideration when submitting the bid. During maintenance and/or repair of damaged sections of guardrail, the contractor shall replace all needed components of guardrail as directed by the Engineer and stabilize existing guardrail and appurtenances at the site. All work and materials shall be in accordance with the provisions of the General Guidelines of this contract, the Project Special Provisions, the North Carolina Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures, January 2024, the North Carolina Department of Transportation Roadway Standard Drawings, January 2024, and the current edition of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).

Pressure Monitoring Hydrants
Charlotte Water manages an extensive water distribution network throughout Mecklenburg County NC. Monitoring the pressure within this system remotely is crucial for ensuring its optimal performance. Charlotte Water is seeking to upgrade to smart hydrants. The new smart hydrants must maintain Charlotte Water’s current monitoring and reporting capabilities, including remote pressure reporting, historical data access, pressure zone grouping, and a web-based interface. Additionally, they must function even when the hydrant is off and provide reliable pressure readings throughout the year, including during freezing temperatures.

Asphalt Rejuvenating Application Services
The Contractor shall furnish all labor, material, and equipment necessary to perform all services for the application of asphalt-rejuvenating agent to asphaltic concrete surfaces at various locations throughout the City of Charlotte. The rejuvenation of surface roads shall be by spray application of a cationic rejuvenating agent composed of petroleum oils and resins emulsified with water. All work shall be in accordance with the specifications, and the applicable drawings, and subject to the terms and specifications conditions of the contract.

This will be a request for qualification for Design Services. The project scope includes; new clarifier, new thickener, filter replacement, electric and piping upgrades, etc. Anticipated 16 month design with 20 month construction.

The project will install pedestrian and bicycle facilities to connect Park South Drive to Park Road. Project will construct asphalt trail and pedestrian signals on Park Road and Park South Drive. Work also includes construction of concrete curb and gutter, curb ramps, storm drainage, traffic control and pavement markings.
