McCullough Streetscape Project
Originating from the Northeast Corridor Infrastructure (NECI) Program, this project proposes to provide a new street connection by extending McCullough Drive from North Tryon Street to the existing dead end at Ken Hoffman Drive. This project will include two travel lanes, planting strips, curb & gutter, asphalt milling and paving, storm drainage, utility relocation, erosion control, bike lanes, sidewalk, Post Construction Stormwater Ordinance (PCSO) underground storage vaults, and retaining wall improvements. This project will improve pedestrian and bicycle mobility between North Tryon Street and W.T. Harris Boulevard.

The purpose and need for this construction project is to improve the storm drainage infrastructure (i.e. pipe systems and culverts) to reduce flooding and to enhance degraded stream reaches to reduce erosion and improve water quality. This project is under review. Location and project details will be provided after review is complete.

Copy of Hidden Valley Fire Station #45
Design and construct a new 2-story, 3-bay fire station approximately 14,000 square feet, to be located at 5800 North Tryon Street. This facility will be a new infill fire station that will alleviate high call volume for surrounding stations. A new fire station must be built when a new “point of dispatch” is required in order to meet response time standards. The proposed facility will be located on a 2.03-acre parcel that facilitates the redevelopment of abandoned/underutilized sites and vacant sites. This location and site selection shall meet the City of Charlotte Policy for Sustainable City Facilities and Charlotte Fire Department Facilities Master Plan.
This project will pursue LEED certification. The site will incorporate solar panels and a geothermal well system with water source heat pumps.

Charlotte Water will be seeking contracts with companies for the as-needed purchase of fire hydrants and American Flow Control, Clow, Kennedy, and Mueller fire hydrant parts. One manufacturer will be selected (based on low bid) for the purchase of fire hydrants, and contracts for parts will be established for each manufacturer. Fire hydrants and parts shall be delivered to the Charlotte Water location specified at the time of purchase, with the most frequent delivery location being 5730 General Commerce Drive, Charlotte, North Carolina 28216.

I-277 Rail Trail Bridge – Construction
This project will construct a pedestrian bridge over I-277 to connect South End to Uptown. The bridge will be located just west of the existing light rail bridge and will include aesthetic elements to create a signature design. It will also include a new pedestrian rail crossing on the Morehead landing area and will tie the Stonewall plaza into the existing light rail platform.
This project is located on Sardis Oaks Road between Sardis Road North and Rock Point Road. The existing drainage system consists of pipe under city-maintained roads. The improvements include pipe system upgrades.
