Charlotte Water seeks the services of a qualified engineering firm to perform a comprehensive Master Plan of the water supply and distribution system in the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County, develop a prioritized Capital Investment Plan and provide a continuous improvement plan.

FY23 Large Diameter/Sewer Service Contract #1
This contract will incorporate the installation of water and/or sanitary sewer services at a single address, water and/or sanitary sewer service dismantlement at a single address or a water/sanitary sewer main line extension. There maybe more than one water and/or sanitary sewer service installation , water and/or sanitary sewer service dismantlement at the same address. Additionally, a single commercial site with water and/or sanitary sewer services to be installed or water and/or sanitary sewer services to be dismantled at different addresses is to be considered one project for the entire commercial site.

The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) is seeking a vendor(s) to support non-revenue vehicle requirements. The contract is for one (1) year with four (4) 1-year renewals. There will be 24 different vehicles required ranging from small cars, large trucks, vans and SUV’s.

CATS FY23 – Special Track Work Contractor
CATS MOW will need to solicit a railroad contractor to surface bridge and crossing approaches to maintain proper track geometry. The railroad contractor must have the equipment to weld track structure, machinery to tamp bridge and crossing approaches. Surfacing equipment must have the ability to tamp, lift, level and line in order to remove existing faults in longitudinal and alignment defects in the track structure. CATS MOW will provide a pilot that will assist with track access. CATS MOW will provide ballast and field weld kits for use as needed. The railroad contractor is responsible to ensure all machines can safely traverse the alignment, specs and diagrams for the alignment will be available from CATS if needed. The railroad contractor will need to be RWPP certified that will also be provided by CATS Safety personnel before fouling the Blue Line right of way.
The work will be performed during CATS annual shutdown which will consist over 2 days. Beginning on Friday at approximately 0000 and ending on Sunday evening 1800 hours. The railroad contractor would be required to have sufficient resources to support work throughout the shutdown time period to maximize production during the shutdown window.

CATS MOW Track Vegetation Spray Services
This Request for Proposal will be for vegetation management of 40 miles CATS Rail Operations track. This area includes double main track, storage tracks and yard tracks. The railroad vegetation management is to protect the LYNX rail passengers and CATS infrastructure, as well as preserving a stable balance with the environment and surrounding natural resources. The vegetation management will consist of two track vegetation sprays a year. The spraying will be on track, off track areas within the storage yards, sub stations and signal houses.

Ready Mix Concrete with Portland Cement
Ready mix concrete and cement products are used in the maintenance, repair and installation of sidewalks, curbs and gutters, driveways, traffic signal cabinet foundations, pedestrian signal foundations, and accessible ramps. This is to provide Ready Mix Concrete w/Portland Cement and/or cement product to the Charlotte Department of Transportation (CDOT), Street Maintenance Division (SMD). All materials provided are to be either delivered by the successful bidder to specified job sites, or picked up at the successful bidders plant, by city-owned vehicles.

The Final Engineer of Record will start their services at 30%, by utilizing preliminary plans from the Master Civil Engineer. CLT may select multiple engineering firms to work on the various aforementioned project elements.

Concourse E Gate E5/E5-A Modifications
Modifications-renovations minor changes to existing hold room and the exterior of building. A new door to the exterior of the building, steel walkway ramp from the building down to the ramp, new electrical and data and security work associated with the new door.
Median Object Markers are installed throughout the City by the Charlotte Department of Transportation (CDOT). These markers give clear indications of separations of lanes and the location of roadway medians on City streets. The markers are bolted into asphalt or concrete to assist with traffic flow by providing clarity of lane locations in highly congested areas for both daytime and nighttime driving.
The solicitation is to establish a contract to purchase the Median Object Markers and the necessary hardware, for two years with the option to renew for three additional one-year terms.
