Part of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) mandates that bridges and culverts are inspected every two years. Bridges are inspected for structural adequacy, safety, and functionality.
The City Council will seek contracts for the design and construction of needed repairs related to bridge inspection contracts.
Based on repair needs identified in Inspection Reports, the Consultant shall prepare technical plans and specifications (“Construction Documents”) for the required repairs to the City’s bridges. The Consultant shall prepare two (2) bid documents (including one for guardrail work) that shall include the technical
plans and specifications for the bid packages for each bridge, as well as bid information/requirements for potential contractors. The Consultant shall plan completion dates for each bridge so that all bridge repairs will be completed by the contractor before the beginning of the next inspection cycle.

The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) as a department of the City of Charlotte (City) plans to hire multiple professional consultant teams to provide professional services related to transit vehicles and maintenance; facility assessments and design; transit safety, training, and security planning; and transit technology support for related CATS projects. Project teams can propose on all or just one of the general technical services being requested. The various services shall be requested on an as needed basis using a negotiated work order process. The City is seeking firms whose combination of experience and personnel will provide timely, cost effective and quality professional services to the City.

This project involves repairing bridge structures in various locations within the city limits. This work shall consist of furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials to repair noted structures. Work includes but not limited to: concrete pavement repairs, asphalt surface sealing / repair / replacement, debris removal, soil / erosion repairs, bridge substructure / superstructure repairs, expansion joint repair / replacement, barrier rail repairs, guardrail repairs, cleaning and painting bridge structures, sealing concrete wearing surface, culvert repairs, and repairs as deemed necessary by the engineer; removing, containment and disposal of existing materials; seeding and mulching all grassed areas disturbed; all incidental items necessary to complete the project as specified and shown on the Bridge Structures Repair Details and Drawings.
The City of Charlotte (City) is soliciting Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from firms/teams (Firms) to provide consulting services (Services) for the Comprehensive Transportation Plan Work Group (Project). The City is seeking firms whose combination of experience and expertise will provide timely, professional services to the City. The City reserves the right to enter into one or more contracts with any firm selected under this RFQ process.
This Request for Proposals is to select one or more firms to provide consulting engineering services to the CATS Rail Car Maintenance department on a task order on-call basis. CATS reserves the right to substitute, delete, or add additional tasks to those outlined in Work because of changes in priorities or unforeseen circumstances. There will be two phases to this Policy and Implementation Plan- Phase 1 will consist of a community driven road map to develop equitable policies that center around cultural, social, economical, and environmental resilience and housing stability within station areas. A co-created policy between vulnerable station-area community members and small business owners facing displacement risks. Phase 2 will focus on implementation and transforming policy frameworks into actionable steps.
