I-85 North Bridge Construction

This project will connect Doug Mayes Place and Research Drive. The connection includes two bridges, one over I-85 and the other over Doby Creek. The bridge over I-85 will include aesthetic elements to create a gateway into Charlotte. The project will also realign the intersection of Research Drive and David Taylor Drive to provide more efficient travel through the intersection.

West Mallard Creek Church Road Shared- Use Path

This project is being built to add sidewalks as part of the city’s Capital Investment Fund to provide a safe, efficient, comfortable pedestrian system to improve the quality of life of its residents, visitors, and businesses. Improvements will be provided along the south side of West Mallard Creek  Church Road, from Mallard Creek Road to roughly 600′ east of Claude Freeman Drive. The project proposes a 12 ft. shared-use path, a typical 8 ft. planting strip (where possible), signalization and intersection improvements at David Taylor Drive, and intersection improvements at Claude Freeman Drive.

McDowell Roofs Package 3 – Cancelled

This project consists of replacing various roofs at the McDowell Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant.  This package will potentially include the replacement of four separate roofs.

FY21 Unspecified Time and Materials Water & Sewer Repairs

The Project consists of providing equipment, vehicles, machinery, implements, tools, supplies, incidentals, and skilled personnel to complete unspecified modifications, maintenance, and repairs to existing water and sewer lines in the Charlotte Water service area.

Sugar and Irwin UV Replacement – cancelled

This project is to replace the ultraviolet disinfection equipment at the Sugar Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant and the Irwin Creek WWTP.  The scope of the work also includes the replacement of the effluent filter piping and valves in addition to concrete channel work.

Ashe Plantation WWTP – Phase II Upgrades

The Project consists of the demolition of the existing 0.1 MGD “packaged” WWTP (flow eq, sludge holding, extended aeration, clarifiers), filters, generator, shed and select yard piping. The new infrastructure includes a new 0.1 MGD “packaged” WWTP (flow eq, sludge holding, extended aeration), two clarifiers, pre-engineered office/lab building, generator and the associated yard piping, site work, electrical and instrumentation. This scope of work also includes the relocation of and existing 8” gravity sewer line.

Storm Water Repair and Improvement FY2021-D

Work performed under this contract will consist of storm water infrastructure repair and improvement projects within the city limits of Charlotte, NC.  Work will involve mobilization, earthwork, drainage structures, storm drain pipe systems, channels, working over, under, near, and around existing private utilities asphalt paving, concrete flatwork, and landscaping and any associated work required by the Engineer.  Other work may include structural foundation protection, storm water pipe lining, storm water pipe joint and structure repair, water and sewer (relocations, installations and adjustments).  Storm Water maintenance work may be located entirely within or a combination of the street right-of-way, private, residential and commercial properties.
