The Fourth Parallel Runway Program – North End-Around Taxiway (NEAT) Extension – Volume I includes the construction of 75 feet wide x 5,300 feet long new taxiway with two connector taxiways. Primary work elements include 18-inch Portland cement concrete pavement; cement-treated base course; crushed aggregate base course; asphalt shoulders; pavement markings; mass grading; 15” – 84” drainage pipes; cast-in-place and pre-cast structures; underdrains; airfield electrical including duct banks, cabling, lighting, and signage; erosion control; asphalt service roads; and fencing. The project also includes Stockpile Site – Volume II. Primary work elements include pavement, slab on grade, and foundation demolition; building demolition; utility removal; asphalt roadway; waterline installation; mass grading; erosion control; and fencing.
South End-Around Taxiway (SEAT)
As part of the Fourth Parallel Runway Program at CLT, an end-around taxiway is required at the south end of new Runway 1C-19C and existing Runway 18C-36C. This project will construct the South End-Around Taxiway (SEAT). The project includes erosion and sedimentation control, grading, drainage, retaining wall construction, airfield concrete and asphalt paving, marking, and airfield lighting/signage to construct the SEAT. The new taxiway will meet FAA Taxiway Design Group (TDG) 5 requirements.
Bridge Structures Repairs
This project involves repairing bridge structures in various locations within the city limits. This work shall consist of furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials to repair noted structures. Work includes but not limited to: concrete pavement repairs, asphalt surface sealing / repair / replacement, debris removal, soil / erosion repairs, bridge substructure / superstructure repairs, expansion joint repair / replacement, barrier rail repairs, guardrail repairs, cleaning and painting bridge structures, sealing concrete wearing surface, culvert repairs, and repairs as deemed necessary by the engineer; removing, containment and disposal of existing materials; seeding and mulching all grassed areas disturbed; all incidental items necessary to complete the project as specified and shown on the Bridge Structures Repair Details and Drawings.
Cross Charlotte Trail (XCLT)− Tryon to Orr
This project will extend the Cross Charlotte Trail main alignment from N. Tryon Street to Orr Road with additional connectors to the surrounding area.
Beatties Ford Sidewalk Phase 1
This project will improve the curbs, driveway, sidewalks and ramps for Beatties Ford Road between Russell Avenue and Lasalle Street. Concrete shall be 6-inch Portland cement, asphalt shall be two-inch course and four-inch intermediate course. Gravel shall be six-inch incidental stone. Limits of proposed slopes are indicated in the plans. The contractor shall maintain erosion control devices in accordance with the appropriate city and state erosion and sediment control ordinances. Contractor shall sawcut existing asphalt and/or concrete surfaces prior to removal unless otherwise directed by the engineer. Project length is 0.281 miles.
Franklin Water Treatment Plant Clearwell Improvements
Charlotte Water is requesting bids for construction of the Franklin Water Treatment Plant Clearwell project. This project includes installation of large diameter (72 to 120 inch) pipes, valves, and fittings. It also includes constructing a new chemical feed system, including a new building, pumps, storage silos, and chemical piping.
On Call Stream Restoration and Sanitary Sewer Repair
This project includes stream stabilization and sewer repair at multiple locations within the sanitary sewer collection system. Stream stabilization structures shall be constructed to protect existing and proposed sanitary sewer infrastructure.
Project components include natural in-stream structures, plantings, site grading, sanitary sewer replacement, sheet pile installation, bypass pumping and sediment control measures. Site locations will be released during the contract duration.
The contract is expected to be for a two-year term with possible renewal.
Beaverdam Creek Pump Station Expansion
This project includes upgrading the Beaverdam Creek Pump Station. Work will involve removing two sets of the existing two-stage pumps and installing four sets of two-stage pumps. Work also includes installing surge tanks and implementing interior modifications to the wet well to improve the hydraulics during self-cleaning operations.
Rivergate Parkway Bridge
This project will install a bridge over Hoover Creek connecting two ends of Rivergate Parkway. The project will provide vehicular and pedestrian access between neighborhoods and local retail. The project amenities include: a new bridge, sidewalk, curb and gutter, milling, asphalt pavement, pavement markings and related activities.
