The Cell Phone Lot Auxiliary Lane project will provide a full auxiliary lane along Josh Birmingham Highway that spans from the Cell Phone Lot and Long Term 1 Bus Exit to the entrance of the Cell Phone Lot. This project includes construction of a modular precast block wall, traffic control, erosion and sedimentation control, grading, drainage, construction of curb and gutter, landscaping, relocation of light and banner poles, asphalt paving, fencing, and signage.
4th Parallel Runway Package 2: Runway
As part of the Fourth Parallel Runway Program at CLT, this construction package will include the construction of new Runway 1C-19C and its connector taxiways. The project includes erosion and sedimentation control, grading, drainage, fencing, vehicle service roads, miscellaneous utilities, airfield concrete and asphalt paving, marking, airfield lighting/signage, and approach lighting infrastructure.
4th Parallel Runway Bid Package 3: Taxiway H, Taxiway K, and Runway 1C-19C Associated NAVAIDs
This project is part of the 4th Parallel Runway Program and includes the construction of parallel Taxiway H, connector Taxiway K, Charlotte Douglas International Airport’s (CLT) Fourth Remote Transmitter/Receivers (RTR) Facility, and the Runway 1C-19C Navigational Aids (NAVAIDs), including Instrument Landing System (ILS), Precision Approach Path Indicators (PAPI), and approach lighting systems supporting both runway ends. The scope of work involves, but is not limited to pavement demolition, compacted concrete pavement (CCP), asphalt shoulder paving, asphalt access road installation, ARFF Road asphalt pavement rehabilitation, maintenance of traffic, grading, drainage, erosion and sediment control, pavement markings, airfield electrical installation, NAVAIDs infrastructure, glide slope installation, localizer installation, medium intensity approach light system with runway alignment indicator lights (MALSR), and the installation of the fourth RTR shelter, including all associated utilities and sitework.
The Scope of Work includes critical FAA NAVAIDs work that is complex and time sensitive. Therefore, Bidders should review Article IV.B. §80-05 of the proposed Contract. It is the responsibility of the Bidder to ensure that it has adequate capacity available (including but not limited to such factors as licensing, experience, training, and specific expertise), whether by subcontractor or its own forces, to perform the necessary electrical work in a timely fashion.
South End-Around Taxiway (SEAT)
As part of the Fourth Parallel Runway Program at CLT, an end-around taxiway is required at the south end of new Runway 1C-19C and existing Runway 18C-36C. This project will construct the South End-Around Taxiway (SEAT). The project includes erosion and sedimentation control, grading, drainage, retaining wall construction, airfield concrete and asphalt paving, marking, and airfield lighting/signage to construct the SEAT. The new taxiway will meet FAA Taxiway Design Group (TDG) 5 requirements.

Upper Little Sugar Creek Replacement Sewer – Phase 2 and Phase 3 from Bilmark Avenue to Canterwood Drive and 911 Georgetown Storm Drainage Improvement Project (SDIP)
The Project consists of the installation of 250 LF of 8” sewer; 3,060 LF of 16” sewer; 3,100 LF of 18” sewer; 37 manholes; bypass pumping of wastewater; and other related sewer installation/replacement work for the Upper Little Sugar Creek Replacement Sewer Phases 2 and 3 portions. For the 911 Georgetown SDIP, the project consists of the Installation of 394 LF of 5’ X 4’ Precast R.C. Box Culvert; 60 LF of 10’ X 8’ Precast R.C. Box Culvert; 9 masonry drainage structures; and other related storm drainage installation work.
Relocation of West Boulevard (NC 160) (Construction)
The West Boulevard Project includes the construction of approximately 1.2 miles of the future West Blvd by realigning existing Byrum Drive and existing Piney Top Drive from the intersection of Steele Creek Road and West Blvd to the intersection of West Blvd and Piney Top Drive. The Project includes construction of a new intersection of proposed West Blvd and Byrum Drive and a new intersection of proposed West Blvd and Piney Top Drive. Disciplines will include roadway, hydraulics, erosion control, signals, traffic management, pavement marking, signing, utility design, and utility relocation. Existing portions of West Blvd between Steele Creek Road and Piney Top Drive will be removed as part of a separate project.
Wilkinson Boulevard ITS Phase 2 – CANCELLED
This project will install single‐mode fiber optic cable installed in new directionally bored, hand-dug and trenched conduit, existing conduit, and aerial attachments to poles. It will remove existing copper communication cables. This project includes entrances and interconnect equipment for existing traffic signal control cabinets and the installation of traffic management cameras. This project also includes fiber optic cable splicing, testing, Ethernet communications equipment, traffic management camera equipment and other related activities.
