The Charlotte Fire Department (CFD) provides EMS- First Responder emergency services from 43 fire stations. Various supplies are needed to provide first responders with medical aid and basic life support. Supplies include but are not limited to, bandages, airway devices, EMS gloves, splints, OB kits, stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs, EMS equipment bags, etc.
The scope of this Invitation to Bid (ITB) will be to establish a contract for the purchase and delivery of EMS Supplies and other inherently related activities of the Products and Services in compliance with the specifications and terms and conditions outlined in this ITB.
All Products and component parts furnished under the solicitation shall be new, shall comply with the specifications and terms and conditions outlined in the ITB, and shall operate in full compliance with the Specifications.
The Charlotte Fire Department is requesting a new solicitation for Snap-Tite brand fire hose and Akron brand nozzles. These hose and nozzle combinations are replaced on average every 10-years, consistent with the apparatus replacement cycle. All materials must meet the minimum requirements of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). The Fire Department will only accept hose that is manufactured, coupled and tested in the U.S.A.
The Charlotte Fire Department is requesting a new solicitation for firefighting personal protective equipment. This request is specifically for firefighting boots, helmets, and gloves. These items are required for structural firefighting and technical rescue operations. The specific items must meet the standards established by the National Fire Protection Association.
The Charlotte Fire Department currently operates 43 separate Fire Stations that service the Charlotte community. Fire Stations differ in size and design, but they all have fire apparatus that are housed inside the stations. The diesel exhaust produced by the trucks contains multiple toxic air contaminants that must be removed from the air to provide the firefighters with a clean and safe work environment. All Fire Stations are currently equipped with Plymovent Exhaust Systems.
Charlotte Fire Department requires a Service Provider to maintain the existing exhaust system with a quarterly preventative maintenance plan for each location. The Service Provider must be able to repair and service the existing system and provide reports on the specific condition of the system with recommendations for repairs or replacements. The Service Provider must be able to install a complete exhaust system if the current system is beyond repair, or if the needed repairs are not cost-effective. The Service Provider must be able to design and install a complete system for any future construction of new Fire Stations as needed.
The Charlotte Fire Department is seeking bids for future fire apparatus purchases. The specific apparatus that will be bid upon shall be custom built pumpers, rear mount ladder trucks and mid-mount tower ladders. The department typically purchases 8 trucks per year for the replacements and additions to the fleet. Detailed specifications and requirements will be published with the Invitation to Bid.
The Charlotte Fire Department (CFD) uses Key Fire Hoses in its firefighting operations. CFD utilizes 5″ Large Diameter Hoses and 1.75″ and 2.5″ Hand Lines. The hoses must meet the current NFPA 1961 Standards. The hoses are delivered coupled, tested, and carry a 10-year written warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
This solicitation is to establish a contract to purchase Key Fire Hoses for one-year with the option to renew for four additional one-year terms.
The Charlotte Fire Department (CFD) provides physical fitness training uniforms to all new and current employees on an annual basis for required on-the-job physical training and recruit school. The uniform items consists of sweatshirts, sweat pants, training shorts, and tee shirts. The uniforms will require screen-printing of the CFD logos onto the garments. Short sleeve and long sleeve tee shirts are also provided as part of the employee’s uniform allotment. This will be a contract for a period of three years with the option to extend the contract for two additional one-year terms.
This contract is for the provision of a qualified Company to assist the City of Charlotte Fire Department (CFD) with yearly rank testing, specifically developing and implementing the testing materials for yearly Promotional Processes for the ranks of Entry Level (EL), Fire Fighters (FF), Captain, Engineer, Battalion Chief, and Division Chief. Multiple processes may be run over the course of a calendar year depending upon the needs of CFD.
