The CATS vanpool program is a resource for businesses and community groups to access ridesharing services through CATS and is a cost-effective public transit option. Commuters travel together in high-capacity vehicles between their homes or a designated location to a common work destination. The goal of the vanpool program is to reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality, and provide a cost-effective travel alternative for commuters.

The proposed Hambright Park and Ride will be a 500+ parking space mobility hub to provide rapid transit services to the Town of Huntersville, NC and surrounding areas by utilizing the newly constructed express lane direct connect. The proposed project will construct a transit park and ride with approximately 500 parking spaces, a new public street to access the site, driver comfort station (driver restroom facilities), internal pedestrian circulation, provisions for a mobility hub for micro-mobility options and/or shared ride services, and site security and surveillance. The proposed location is in the Town of Huntersville, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina along the south side of Hambright Road (NC 2117), situated between Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road (NC2004) and Interstate 77.

The Charlotte Area Transit System is soliciting proposals for the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Transit Administration Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Grant Program (Section 5310). Section 5310 funds are available for capital and operating expenses to support transportation projects that meet the special transportation needs of seniors (individuals 65 years and older) and individuals with disabilities. All projects must be situated in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Urbanized area and must be derived from the Coordinated Human Services Transportation Plan for the Charlotte Urbanized Area (FY2022-FY2027). Eligible subrecipients include state or local government organizations, private nonprofit organizations, and operators of public transportation.
