Scope Statement: CFD plans to build a temporary firehouse for the newly developed River District to manage response volumes in the area. The firehouse will be located on Dixie River Road, near the future Catawba Crossing, on parcel number 14128101.
The Phase 1 facility will be (1) triple wide trailer to house the firemen and a pre-engineered building to serve as an apparatus bay to house the fire engine and emergency equipment.
This location and site selection meets the City of Charlotte Policy for Sustainable City Facilities and Charlotte Fire Department Facilities Master Plan.
The purpose of this project is to improve traffic flow on North Tryon Street by extending the left turn lane. This project will include lane widening, drainage and pavement markings.
This project will provide new sidewalk along Sardis Road North from Sardis Road to westernmost intersection of Rittenhouse Circle and Sardis Road North. Project length = 0.5 miles.
This project will include the following:
6′ Sidewalk
8′ Planting Strips
2′-6″ Curb and Gutter
Street Trees
Concrete Ped Refuge Island (between Kilcullen Dr. and Rittenhouse Circle)
Concrete Bus waiting pads
Retaining Walls
Curb Ramps
Storm Drainage
The project consists of intersection improvements at Remount Rd and West Blvd including sidewalks, curb and gutter, decorative concrete surface treatments, bus shelters with amenities, pedestrian-scale lighting, crosswalks, curb ramps, pedestrian crossing signalization, and landscaping.
This project will install a 6′ concrete sidewalk, 8′ planting strip, concrete curb ramps, Pedestrian Refuge Island, concrete driveways, 2′-6″ concrete curb and gutter, storm drainage systems, and street trees along Margaret Wallace Road from Summerfield Ridge Lane to Marshbrooke Road. The project length is 1,900 LF/0.40 miles.
This project is located on Sharon Road at Eastburn Road. The project proposes a curve realignment adding a left-turn lane from Sharon Road on to Eastburn Road and removing the superelevation.
Charlotte Firehouse #11 located at 620 W. 28th Street is one of the older CFD facilities. The building has a pressing need for repair and upgrades. This project will remove and replace the existing firehouse with a facility which meets modern day needs. The project will produce a new 17,000 SF, 4-bay two-story firehouse.
As part of the Fourth Parallel Runway Program at CLT, this construction package will include the construction of new Runway 1C-19C and its connector taxiways. The project includes erosion and sedimentation control, grading, drainage, fencing, vehicle service roads, miscellaneous utilities, airfield concrete and asphalt paving, marking, airfield lighting/signage, and approach lighting infrastructure.
This project is part of the 4th Parallel Runway Program and includes the construction of parallel Taxiway H, connector Taxiway K, Charlotte Douglas International Airport’s (CLT) Fourth Remote Transmitter/Receivers (RTR) Facility, and the Runway 1C-19C Navigational Aids (NAVAIDs), including Instrument Landing System (ILS), Precision Approach Path Indicators (PAPI), and approach lighting systems supporting both runway ends. The scope of work involves, but is not limited to pavement demolition, compacted concrete pavement (CCP), asphalt shoulder paving, asphalt access road installation, ARFF Road asphalt pavement rehabilitation, maintenance of traffic, grading, drainage, erosion and sediment control, pavement markings, airfield electrical installation, NAVAIDs infrastructure, glide slope installation, localizer installation, medium intensity approach light system with runway alignment indicator lights (MALSR), and the installation of the fourth RTR shelter, including all associated utilities and sitework.
The Scope of Work includes critical FAA NAVAIDs work that is complex and time sensitive. Therefore, Bidders should review Article IV.B. §80-05 of the proposed Contract. It is the responsibility of the Bidder to ensure that it has adequate capacity available (including but not limited to such factors as licensing, experience, training, and specific expertise), whether by subcontractor or its own forces, to perform the necessary electrical work in a timely fashion.
