These contract(s) will be for the on-call consulting services of internal projects under the guidance of Design and Construction for miscellaneous needs, such as water and sewer extension projects and other capital projects. These contracts will cover Charlotte Water’s entire service area.

Sugar Creek WWTP East Equalization Basin Joint Repair

This contract will be for the rehabilitation of the east equalization basin. Construction will require the removal and replacement of deteriorating joint materials. This project will also include high pressure crack injection repairs.

McDowell Creek WRRF Primary Clarifier Mechanism Replacement-CANCELLED

The project involves the procurement of a new primary clarifier mechanism to replace the existing mechanism in Primary Clarifier #5 at the McDowell Creek Water Resource Recovery Facility. This replacement aims to improve the performance and reliability of the primary clarifier, ensuring that it meets current operational standards.

McDowell Creek WRRF Primary Clarifier Rehabilitation

This project will rehabilitate Primary Clarifier #5 at the McDowell Creek Water Resource Recovery Facility. The scope of work includes the demolition and replacement of the existing clarifier mechanism, various concrete repairs, and regrouting of the clarifier floor. Additionally, pressure-reducing valves, plug valves, and telescoping valves will be replaced, and existing electrical and instrumentation systems will be reconnected to the new clarifier mechanism. These improvements will enhance the functionality and durability of the primary clarifier.

Sugar Creek Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF) Ultraviolet (UV) Disinfection System Upgrades

This project involves the replacement of the existing ultraviolet disinfection system at the Sugar Creek Water Resource Recovery Facility. The scope of work includes upgrading the UV disinfection system while utilizing the existing UV channels, extending these channels, and replacing the current level control gates with fixed finger weirs. A new non-potable water (NPW) pump station wet well will be added, and the drain valve of the East Equalization Basin will be replaced. During this upgrade, a temporary disinfection system will be provided to maintain disinfection while the UV system is out of service. Additionally, two existing NPW pumps will be relocated, and three NPW pumps will be replaced in kind. The Filter Backwash Return Pump wet well work will include the installation of a backwash return pump, the necessary piping and valves, and the replacement of a flow meter.

Davidson Eastern Rocky River Sanitary Sewer Outfall

This contract will be for the design and construction of a gravity outfall sewer along the Rocky River. This project will consist of approximately 3,600 linear feet of 15-inch and 2,400 linear feet of 12-inch gravity sanitary sewer piping. This outfall is tributary to the existing Rocky River outfall in Cabarrus County and Water and Sewer Authority of Cabarrus County (WSACC) Rocky River Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant.
