“This will be done as part of a design-build project: Dairy Branch Sewer Improvements. I think this will be Phase 3 of that project. The design-build team has already been selected and are currently working through their guaranteed max price (GMP) before they go to Council for approval. We had a couple questions on the GMP for our part that the d-b team is working through. I believe their intent is to go to Council in the next couple months with construction starting in summer/late summer, so probably not until FY23.”
The purpose and need for the construction project is to improve the storm drainage infrastructure (i.e. pipe systems and culverts) to reduce flooding and to enhance degraded stream reaches to reduce erosion and improve water quality.
The 9th and College Storm Drainage Improvement Project is located in Uptown Charlotte within the 9th Street Right-of- Way between North College Street and the CATS Blue Line Extension light rail. The project will upgrade and replace storm drainage, sanitary sewer, and water main infrastructure within this block of 9th Street. The project will also include sidewalk, hardscape, pavement, and pavement markings replacement.
This construction project is located just east of downtown along an unnamed tributary to Little Sugar Creek on Louise Ave. The purpose and need for the project is to improve the storm drainage infrastructure (i.e. pipe systems and culverts) to reduce flooding and to enhance degraded stream reaches to reduce erosion and improve water quality.
This is a collective series storm drainage improvement submittal which contains four (4) separate projects. The projects vary in size and each bring their unique differences. There will be pipe replacement varying in size from 15″- 48″ RCP and 38″x60″ elliptical RCP. Other project replacements include, curb, curb ramp, sidewalk, asphalt, driveways, storm drainage structures and sewer pipe. Project installation includes rip-rap aprons, CIPP liner for a range of pipe from 24″-42″, active shoring, storm drainage pipe and storm drainage structures. Some 24″ RCP will be plugged and filled with excavatable flowable fill.
The Eaglewood Storm Drainage Improvement Project will address deficiencies of the storm drainage system located within Eaglewood Avenue right‐of‐way between Pinafore Drive and Pineborough Road. Work includes storm drains, storm drainage structures, sanitary sewer, curb and gutter, asphalt paving, erosion control, traffic control and other related activities.
The project area covers approximately 240 acres and includes neighborhoods east of Sharon Rd, south of Wamath Dr, north of Stocktie Rd, and west of the intersection of Hinsdale St and Tinkerbell Ln. Improvements include channel stabilization, replacement of aging/deteriorating culverts, replacement and repair of aging/deteriorating storm drains, select sanitary sewer improvements and other related activities.
Work performed under this contract will consist of storm water infrastructure repair and improvement projects within the city limits of Charlotte, NC. Work will involve mobilization, earthwork, drainage structures, storm drain pipe systems, channels, working over, under, near, and around existing private utilities asphalt paving, concrete flatwork, and landscaping and any associated work required by the Engineer. Other work may include structural foundation protection, storm water pipe lining, storm water pipe joint and structure repair, water and sewer (relocations, installations and adjustments). Storm Water maintenance work may be located entirely within or a combination of the street right-of-way, private, residential and commercial properties.
