Euclid Avenue 1818 Storm Drainage Improvement Project

The project involves analysis of existing conditions to determine portions of the storm drainage system needing improvement, and design and construction of needed improvements. The existing storm system experienced a pipe collapse due to poor condition of the pipe. To address the request and meet level of service design standards the project will remove and replace the existing Storm Drainage Infrastructure within the project scope.
Proposed improvements include removing approximately 343 LF of 18″ storm water pipe and replace with approximately 410 LF of 24″ storm water pipe, add 2 double catch basins and associated items, and remove and replace approximately 357 LF of 8″ sewer pipe, and 3 sewer manholes.

FY27 Small Diameter Water and Sewer Services Contract #1

This contract project provides construction and installation of small diameter water and sewer service connections. These service connections are applied and paid for by external customers and installed by the Charlotte Water contractor.

IRIS DRIVE STORM DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

The Iris Drive Storm Drainage Improvement Project involves removal of existing retaining wall and installation of erosion control measures; installation of a new retaining wall; milling, resurfacing, and restriping of existing parking lot; installation of wheelstops and installation of curb; installation of a stormwater manhole, catch basin, and associated pipe. Stream improvements include addition a boulder toe, rock sills, and plantings along portions of the stream. The estimated cost of this project is $ 521,500.00.

FY26 Water and Sewer Repairs — CANCELLED

This Project includes the repair of water and sewer main lines and service lines throughout the Charlotte Water service area. The work under this contract
will supplement the City’s workforce in making both routine repairs and more urgent repairs when damage is done by other parties. Work may include either water or sewer lines, any depth or any size. Because of the unknown scope of each repair, this is a Time and Materials contract.

Gleneagles Storm Drainage Improvement Project

The Gleneagles Project is primarily focused on replacing an existing CMP culvert near 3810 Gleneagles Road.  The existing culvert is 8.7’ high by 7.8’ wide and is being replaced with a 10’ wide and 7’ tall RCBC.  The culvert replacement is occurring to address aging infrastructure and to improve the reliability of infrastructure for the traveling public.  In support of this culvert replacement, we are dredging the downstream pond which is located on the Quail Hollow Country Club near the 15th hole.  The dredging will remove sediment that has built up near the downstream end of the existing culvert and prevent sediment transport downstream which would negatively impact existing ponds and habitats.  In addition, we will be adding inlets and upgrading roadside drainage on Out-Of-Bounds Drive which has significant spread in larger storm events from road drainage.  The work on Out-Of-Bounds Drive will increase the safety of the traveling public using that roadway during rain events.

Bruns Academy Water Quality Enhancement Project

There is an existing wetlands system and stream adjacent to the Bruns Academy that are in need of improvements. The intent of this project is to reset an existing wetlands system to its original design and provide enhancement, where applicable. Wetland restoration efforts will include regrading, sodding and planting of vegetation,  installation of a new pedestrian bridge and retaining wall.  Additionally, stream improvements, such as regrading banks and adding riffles, are proposed. The proposed improvements will enhance the overall performance of the system for conveying and treating stormwater.
