The purpose of this project is to increase capacity along Rea Road. Capacity will be increased by utilizing the right turn lane drops and median to develop an additional NB and SB through lane along Rea Road between the I-485 ramps and Williams Pond Lane. This project will also result in increased turn lane capacity and intersection improvements at Piper Station Drive and Ballantyne Commons Parkway. Pedestrian safety and mobility will be improved by providing sidewalks on both sides of Rea Road. Other specific improvements include: curb and gutter, accessible ramps, and driveways.
Professional Engineering Services for Minor Storm Drainage Projects
Storm Water Services is soliciting Statement of Qualifications from a qualified engineering companies to provide an engineered solution for various drainage issues in an existing conditions environment where existing drainage systems have failed or flooding conditions have developed and require improvement, replacement, rehabilitation, or repair treatments that meet City practices and standards. This includes, but is not limited to, initial assessment of the existing condition, concept plan development, preparation of design plans, calculations, construction estimates, bidding documents, and other items necessary to resolve reported drainage issues. In addition, participation and attendance may be required for utility coordination meetings, preconstruction meetings, construction warranty observation field meetings at 6 and 11 months intervals, and other meetings necessary to deliver each engineered solution, and address redlined comment.
North Tryon St Left Turn Lane at University City Blvd
The purpose of this project is to improve traffic flow on North Tryon Street by extending the left turn lane. This project will include lane widening, drainage and pavement markings.
Sardis Road North Sidewalk
This project will provide new sidewalk along Sardis Road North from Sardis Road to westernmost intersection of Rittenhouse Circle and Sardis Road North. Project length = 0.5 miles.

Margaret Wallace Road Sidewalk (Summerfield Ridge Lane to Marshbrooke Road)
This project will install a 6′ concrete sidewalk, 8′ planting strip, concrete curb ramps, Pedestrian Refuge Island, concrete driveways, 2′-6″ concrete curb and gutter, storm drainage systems, and street trees along Margaret Wallace Road from Summerfield Ridge Lane to Marshbrooke Road. The project length is 1,900 LF/0.40 miles.
Collective AG Storm Water Drainage Improvement Project
Collective Storm Drainage Improvement Projects Series AG will involve 2 projects throughout the City of Charlotte, 1845 Pinewood Cr and 6009 Rexwood Pl. 1845 Pinewood Cr will consist of reinforced concrete pipe replacement and realignment, CIPP liner, storm drainage structure replacement, full depth asphalt, curb and gutter, concrete driveway, new sanitary sewer pipe and sanitary sewer structures, and new watermain. 6009 Rexwood Pl will consist of reinforced concrete pipe replacement and realignment, CIPP liner, storm drainage structure replacement, full depth asphalt, curb and gutter, and concrete driveway.
Sweden Rd Surface Water Quality Improvement project
The project is located at an existing CDOT facility located at 4600 Sweden Rd. The project improvements include the installation of SCMs along the perimeter of the existing parking areas to capture, treat, and reduce runoff discharge pollutants that are contributing to the Sugar Creek watershed in compliance with site NPDES permit requirements.
Collective AE Storm Drainage Improvement Project
The Project consists of constructing Collective Storm Drainage Improvement Projects Series AE will involve 2 projects throughout the City of Charlotte, 4440 Holbrook Dr, 4611 Denver Av Phase 2. 4440 Holbrook Dr scope will include installation of approx. 26LF 30″ RCP; 90LF 36″ RCP; 110LF 29×45 Elliptical pipe; 7LF 24″ RCP; 77LF 15″ RCP; 29LF 15″ RCP Class IV. Approx 26 LF of 30″ RCP; 56LF 15″ RCP; 10 LF 36″ RCP will be removed and another approx. 200LF of RCP is to be plugged and abandoned. Scope also intends to replace approximately. 105LF of sewer with 8″ DIP and replace (2) sewer manholes. Storm drainage structure replacement, foundation protection, asphalt resurfacing and curb and gutter replacement to also be included. 4611 Denver Av Phase 2 scope will include removal of approximately 75 LF of duel 60″ CMP and installation of 65LF of a 10×5 RCBC. R&R 54 LF 6″ Water Main; Project to include approx. 314 LF of sewer replacement and (6) MHs.
