Citywide Trip Hazard Removal Services

The Charlotte Department of Transportation (CDOT) Street Maintenance Division (SMD) is responsible for the maintenance of more than 2,200 miles of sidewalks and more than 7,000 accessible ramps within the City of Charlotte.  The scope of this work consists of the removal of concrete tripping hazards from sidewalks, curb ramps, and concrete curbing that the City agents have identified.  All work produced must be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements for slope and Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements for traction.  The company will be responsible for all traffic control in accordance with the most recent Work Area Traffic Control Handbook (WATCH).   Any debris resulting from the removal of trip hazards must be removed in a legal manner.

Pump and Motor Repair Service

This project will be to source a company to provide Charlotte Water with an electric pump and motor repair service.  Some work will include repairs on explosion-proof (“EX”)-rated motors designed for use in hazardous areas and motor drive units.  Work shall be performed to achieve a consistent, high-quality repair and/or reconditioning of a failed motor, and shall restore the motor to as-manufactured condition with the least service interruption feasibly possible.  Service shall also include repairs to close-coupled pumps, such as submersible units.

Irwin Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant Cleaning of Process Tanks

Charlotte Water is seeking a company to perform all labor, materials, chemicals, supplies, equipment, transportation, and other incidentals required for the removal, mechanical dewatering, filtrate management, transportation, and disposal of all materials from the Irwin Creek wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) process tanks including six digester tanks and the digested sludge storage tank.

  • Approximately 1,600,000 gallons of sludge
  • Approximate/Average concentration of 3.0%
  • Approximate dewatered sludge concentration of 17.2%
  • Calculated 1,200 approximate wet tons of dewatered sludge/cake disposal
  • Solids capture efficiency of 95% or higher
  • Maximum wash water rate of 60 GPM (for the entire unit, not per belt wash station)

Traffic Control Services-Cancelled

The City is seeking a Service Provider to manage transportation for patrons attending events at the Spectrum Center in uptown Charlotte, and to manage traffic flow to and around the venue for selected events.

On Street Parking and Curb Lane Management Services

The City of Charlotte is seeking a company to provide turn-key operational management of the City’s on-street parking program, to include all customer service; parking enforcement and restrictions; issuance of residential parking permits; maintenance of meters and pay stations; and processing of citations, appeals, and collections.

Water Treatment Valve Rehabilitation Services

Charlotte Water will be seeking a company to inspect Charlotte Water (Water Treatment division) valves for rehabilitation needs in order to maintain their operational status and minimize downtime.  Valves will be disconnected and reconnected by Charlotte Water.

Automatic Gate Maintenance and Decorative Fencing

Selected service providers shall provide routine maintenance for automatic gates, and install new and replacement gates on an as-needed basis.  Providers may also provide decorative fencing for small projects as needed.
