Canceled – South Blvd. Light Rail Facility – 3rd Floor Roofing Replacement

    1. Project Identification: The project consists of roof recover at the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) Light Rail Administration Facility, 3200 South Boulevard, Charlotte, North Carolina.
    2. Project Access: Access to the facility is at 3305 Pelton Street, Charlotte, North Carolina located at the rear of the facility.
    3. Base Bid: Work is generally as follows:
  1. Removal of lightning protection system and storage for reuse.
  2. Removal and disposal of all existing single-ply membrane and flashings; metal flashings, scupper liners and coping caps; installation of new polyisocyanurate roof insulation, gypsum cover board and overlay, fleeceback Polyvinyl-Chloride (PVC) roof membrane and flashings, wood blocking, metal flashings, coping caps, PVC scupper liners and all associated miscellaneous work as specified herein.
  3. Complete removal of existing brick along wall above roof level at Area D; and installation of new through-wall flashing and brick replacement consisting of use of salvaged brick if in good condition and providing new brick (to match existing) as required.
  4. Reinstallation of lightning protection system upon completion of the roofing work according to specifications and requirements of the original UL master label installation.
    The existing roof systems from top to bottom are as follows:

    Membrane Fully adhered Hypalon-based single-ply membrane
    Cover Board 1/2 inch gypsum fiber roof board
    Insulation Two (2) layers of 2-inch extruded polystyrene (XPS)
    Underlayment 5/8 inch gypsum fiber roof board
    Deck Metal deck except that parts of Area A has acoustical metal deck
    Drainage Internal roof drains with overflow scuppers
    Slope 1/4 inch per foot structural slope with XPS insulation drainage crickets

Approx. heights of roofs to top of parapets above grade is 50 feet.

Approx.. square footage of roof project is 18,313 sq.ft.

Cancelled-South Tryon Bus Facility, Bus Steam Bay Lifts

Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) is looking to purchase and install 2 Steam bay bus lifts for the South Tryon Maintenance facility. The project includes removal of the old steam bay lifts.  The delivery date would need to be during business hours, with the vendor having direct contact with the Equipment Manager, based on equipment and time availability once the Procurement process is complete (6-8 weeks).

PSR# 911

Ground Power Circuit Upgrades

The intent of this project is to add the required circuits needed to add an additional 90KVA ground power unit to the existing loading bridges B9, B12, B13, B16. The new electrical circuits will be run-up to the rotunda at each loading bridge and terminated in a fused disconnect per the BR+A drawings. The contract term will be eight (8) months.

Air Handler Unit #63 Replacement

The scope of this contract shall be to provide the installation of an air handling unit (#63) to provide the additional air flow and cooling needed to satisfy the heat load on this section of concourse “E”. The contract term is 90 days.

FY22 Small Diameter Water/Sewer Service Contract

This contract is for water and sanitary sewer service installations including connection to the existing public main, which extends a small diameter line to the property, and includes a water meter box or sanitary sewer cleanout. Customers pay connection fees for the installation service, which is based on costs incurred by Charlotte Water in these contracts. The work covered by this contract will provide approximately 400 total services.

Queens Road West Water Pipe Replacement Project

Charlotte Water (CLTWater) is planning to replace water services on Queens Road West between East Boulevard and Selwyn Avenue and water pipes under Queens Road West from Wellesley Avenue to Selwyn Avenue and East Boulevard near Queens Road West. The Queens Water Main Replacement Project’s completed design and construction have not been scheduled yet.

Dixie River Road Watermain

Charlotte Water (CLTWater) will extend drinking water pipes along Dixie River road from 5900 block of Dixie River Rd to Sadler Road. Construction is scheduled to start in early 2022 and will be complete by early 2023.

Upper Little Sugar Creek Replacement Sewer – Phase 2 and Phase 3 from Bilmark Avenue to Canterwood Drive and 911 Georgetown Storm Drainage Improvement Project (SDIP)

The Project consists of the installation of 250 LF of 8” sewer; 3,060 LF of 16” sewer; 3,100 LF of 18” sewer; 37 manholes; bypass pumping of wastewater; and other related sewer installation/replacement work for the Upper Little Sugar Creek Replacement Sewer Phases 2 and 3 portions. For the 911 Georgetown SDIP, the project consists of the Installation of 394 LF of 5’ X 4’ Precast R.C. Box Culvert; 60 LF of 10’ X 8’ Precast R.C. Box Culvert; 9 masonry drainage structures; and other related storm drainage installation work.

FY22 Large Diameter Water/Sewer Service Contract 1 and 2

This contract will incorporate the installation of new commercial water/sewer services, dismantlement of existing water/sewer services, installation of short public water/sewer main extensions and the option to install small residential services and water quality sampling stations.
