FY23 Small Diameter Water/Sewer Service Contract #2

This contract is for water and sanitary sewer service installations including connection to the existing public main, which extends a small diameter line to the property.  Additionally, a water meter box or sanitary sewer cleanout is included. Customers pay connection fees for the installation service, which is based on costs incurred by Charlotte Water in these contracts. The work covered by this contract will provide approximately 800 total services.

Rehabilitation of wastewater pumping stations. Includes replacement of submersible pumps and pump controls. Makes improvements to flow metering and SCADA systems.

FY23 Professional Engineering and Land Survey Services for Watermain and Sanitary Sewer Street Main Design/Extensions Contract #1 – CANCELLED

This contract is for professional services in support of the Design and Construction Division. These contracts will allow Design and Construction to assist with LCR projects which typically require a longer and more complicated design process which in turn is more costly. Examples of reasons for increased cost in LCR projects versus typical street main extensions would be the need for geotechnical investigation or wetlands investigation and permitting.

Briar Creek-Green Oaks Storm Drainage Improvement Project

The Briar Creek/Green Oaks Storm Drainage Improvement Project will replace failing infrastructure within an existing City Storm Water easement. Current failures of the existing culvert pose a threat to residents, vehicle traffic, and apartment homes. This project will replace, rehabilitate, and relocate the drainage system to ensure public safety within the easement.

 

North End Around Taxiway Package 2 – Paving and Lighting

The North End Around Taxiway (NEAT) – Package 2 consists of installation of taxiway pavement including necessary subgrade improvements, cement treated aggregate base, and Portland cement concrete at proposed grade; installation of airfield lighting and signage components, including conduits, taxiway edge and centerline lights, guidance signs, and necessary electrical components or facilities; installation of a cul-de-sac end treatment, fencing, and guardrail to existing Marshall Drive, just south of Wilkinson Boulevard and north of the Norfolk Southern railroad; installation of the airfield access road north paralleling Taxiway T, and connection to the remnants of Old Dowd Road and Overlook Access Drive (both closed to public traffic).

 

Decommissioning and Rehabilitation Runway 5-23

The Runway 5-23 Decommissioning and Rehabilitation project at Charlotte Douglas International Airport includes the decommissioning of the existing FAA NAVAIDs for Runway 5-23 and conversion of Runway 5-23 into a taxiway, including taxiway marking, lighting, and signage. The project also includes rehabilitation of the Runway 5-23 asphalt pavement in the form of a variable-depth mill and overlay as well as select concrete slab replacement for installation of taxiway centerline lights.

Fix Base Operations (FBO) Fuel Line Repair and Replacement – CANCELLED

Remove existing fiberglass reinforced plastic pipe and install new steel jet fuel piping from FBO tank farm to fueling cabinets on the FBO ramp.  Most removal will be direct excavation.  The removed material is anticipated to need environmental disposal off-site.  New material will be required to fill the trench after a new pipe is placed.  Some directional boring is required under the taxiway.

North End Around Taxiway Early Cabling Project has been combine – CANCELLED

One of seven remaining bid packages within the North End Around Taxiway Program. The construction of the NEAT Early Cabling Project provides for temporary direct-buried power cables from the existing power transformer at the existing RW 36C Approach Localizer Emergency Generator to the existing transformer at the existing Runway 18C Approach Glideslope Shelter in locations with minimal impacts from the proposed NEAT 1st Package construction within the NEAT program.
