Old Dowd Road Relocation

One of four remaining bid packages within the North End Around Taxiway Program. The relocation of Old Dowd Road includes the construction of one two-lane bridge over the Norfolk Southern Railway (NSRR), as well as retaining structures, civil site work, and approximately 3,800 feet of a two-lane roadway connecting existing Old Dowd Road directly to Wilkinson Boulevard. The work also includes demolition of the existing bridge over the NS railroad tracks at Marshall Drive and the construction of approximately 10,000 feet of 24-inch water main and the construction of a regional detention basin.

N Davidson St 2401 Storm Drainage Improvement Project

The existing pipes at the intersection of N Davidson St and 27th St were determined to be in very poor condition. This project will replace the existing three (3) pipes with one (1) large RCP culvert from the intersection of 27th St and N Davidson St, to the headwall located on the north side of N Davison St.

Airfield Wind Cone Replacement (Informal Bid)

The purpose of this project to remove four (4) existing wind cones located at the north and south ends of airfield at Charlotte Douglas International Airport and install four (4) new wind cones, provided by the Airport. Contractor is responsible to maintain a safe and clean operation and for security of all material and equipment while on site. Contractor is responsible to repair any items damage caused by work performed while on site. All staff assigned to project are required to be badge in accordance with airport security policy. Staff must properly display badge at all time, on the upper part of body visual to security and official members of the Airport. Any loss, damaged or stolen badges MUST be reported immediately to your airport contract.

Airfield Crack Sealing Repairs

Charlotte Douglas International Airport is seeking a contractor to perform crack sealing on CLT’s airfield. The work performed on the airfield will include working on runways, taxiways, aprons, and areas around the terminal ramp.
The working hours for this project will be from 11:15 pm to 5:30 am. The contractor will be required to provide all materials, equipment, labor to install crack sealant and cleaning for the work area. The airport will furnish and install
the required barricades for this project.

Equipment Services Building Roof Replacement

Project consists of roof replacement at Fleet Management, Charlotte, North Carolina. This work includes
the provision of labor, material, equipment, supervision and administration to includes:

1. Roof Areas A, B, C and D:
a. Complete removal of all existing metal roof, insulation, bituminous flashings and metal flashings,
gutters and downspouts, abandoned vents and discard.
b. Furnish and install new roof insulation, structural metal roof panels and all associated
miscellaneous work as specified herein.
c. Furnish and install new gutters, downspouts and bituminous and metal flashings.

2. Roof Area E:
a. Furnish and install new roof insulation, fully adhered PVC roof membrane and all associated
miscellaneous work as specified herein.
b. Furnish and install new gutters, downspouts and bituminous and metal flashings.

FY23 Small Diameter Water/Sewer Contract #1

This contract is for water and sanitary sewer service installations including connection to the existing public main, which extends a small diameter line to the property, and includes a water meter box or sanitary sewer cleanout. Customers pay connection fees for the installation service, which is based on costs incurred by Charlotte Water in these contracts. The work covered by this contract will provide approximately 800 total services.

Rehabilitation of wastewater pumping stations. Includes replacement of submersible pumps and pump controls. Makes improvements to flow metering and SCADA systems.

FY23 Professional Engineering and Land Survey Services for Watermain and Sanitary Sewer Street Main Design/Extensions Contract #1 – CANCELLED

This contract is for professional services in support of the Design and Construction Division. These contracts will allow Design and Construction to assist with LCR projects which typically require a longer and more complicated design process which in turn is more costly. Examples of reasons for increased cost in LCR projects versus typical street main extensions would be the need for geotechnical investigation or wetlands investigation and permitting.
