The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center (CMGC) and the adjacent parking garage have been identified in the City-wide ADA Transition Plan for Program Implementation (Program).

The CMGC facility is an existing 14-story, nominally 440,000 square foot building, located at 600 East 4^th Street (parcel ID 12502601) and houses several City & County Departments. The adjacent CMGC Parking Garage (parcel 12502501) is a 5-story concrete deck.

Phase II of this ADA Implementation includes all public and non-public facing spaces of the facilities (with the exception of the Council Chambers) and will resolve the physical, non-conforming ADA barriers identified in the ADA Transition Plan, or as required to meet the City of Charlotte ADA Design Guidelines and the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design.

The CMGC is required to stay open to the public and staff during all phases of the project. Active coordination with tenants, facilities staff, and stakeholders will be critical for the successful completion of this project.
