CCPA Radios and Communication Equipment

The City of Charlotte manages an estimated 12,000 radios for departments across the city. The City is flexible with respect to certain elements of its proposed relationship with the Radios and Communication Equipment Services Provider.

The scope of this Request for Proposal (RFP) will be to establish a contract for the purchases and services of Radios and Communication Supplies in compliance with the specifications and terms and conditions outlined.

This contract will be a Charlotte Cooperative Purchasing Alliance (CCPA) contract.

Safety Supplies

The City of Charlotte is requesting a new contract to provide safety supplies and personal protective equipment. The successful bidder shall agree to receive all orders from the Charlotte Department of Transportation, Neighborhood & Business Services, Charlotte Water, and Solid Waste Services as well as other departments and deliver items ordered to a specified address.
All Products and component parts furnished under the Contract shall be new, shall comply with the specifications and terms and conditions.

Commercial Fitness Equipment

The City of Charlotte extends an invitation for the submission of Bids to supply the City of Charlotte with commercial fitness equipment.  The City has multiple locations with equipment for city employees to use on a regular basis, including but not limited to, the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department and Charlotte Fire Department facilities.

The scope of this Invitation to Bid (ITB) is to establish a contract for the purchase, delivery, and other inherently related activities of the Products and Services in compliance with the specifications and terms and conditions outlined in this ITB.

All Products and parts furnished shall be new and shall comply with the specifications and terms and conditions outlined in this ITB.

Re-Solicitation On Call ADA Assessment and Remediation Services for Digital Assets

The scope of this contract shall be to provide ADA Assessment and Remediation Services on Digital Assets for the City of Charlotte.

The City of Charlotte is interested in partnering with qualified companies capable of digital asset assessment and remediation (e.g., websites, web apps, mobile apps, kiosks, public information display systems, etc.) for the purpose of citizen and employee accessibility, and accessibility by anyone with a disability pursuant to the American Disabilities Act (ADA) (42 U.S.C. Ch. 126 – 12-101 et seq).

Emergency Snow and Ice Removal Services

This project includes snow removal and/or barricading services by either plowing, sweeping, shoveling, or any combination as may be required to provide safe, clear, and unobstructed foot and vehicle travel at city maintained facilities including, but not limited, to parking lots, parking decks, driveways, sidewalks, stairways, and, in some instances, building entrances.

The selected Company will provide snow removal services on an on-call, as-needed basis. Work will be performed in response to requests made by the City’s Project Manager. All services will require advance authorization. The selected company will provide all personnel, equipment, tools, supplies, supervision, and any other items necessary to perform snow removal services. Rental equipment and subcontracting of portions of the work without specific prior authorization will not be accepted.

Managed Print Services & Related Products and Services- CANCELLED

CANCELLED – The City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, the City of Rock Hill, and the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library currently partner to receive Managed Print Services and Related Products, Services, and Solutions.

The City of Charlotte is soliciting on behalf of all four (4) entities as well as the City’s Charlotte Cooperative Purchasing Alliance (CCPA – ) for an outside Service Provider to provide the following comprehensive managed services and solutions:

  • Use of a wide variety of Multifunction Machine, Print Devices, Wide-Format Plotters, and Facsimile machines including all Maintenance and Consumables;
  • Use of wide format, high production, facsimile machines, scanners, and other products, accessories, and supplies that may be available in the Service Provider’s catalog during the term of the Agreement;
  • Fleet monitoring and Reporting Services;
  • Print Shop Management Services for each Entity, to include all necessary Print Shop Equipment, personnel, consumables, and related expenses;
  • Various Software Products, along with all associated licenses, installed on either the Multifunction Machines or Entity and/or Service Provider Owned Hardware in support of various Requirements for each respective Entity; and
  • Managed Print Services of Entity-owned print devices to include, but not limited to support, toner/ink, and paper.
  • Other related Services and Solutions.

Elevator Maintenance and Repair Services

The selected Company will maintain elevator units using trained personnel. The maintenance will include inspection, lubrication, adjustment, and if conditions or usage warrant, repair or replacement of the following parts:

(a) Controller parts, selectors and dispatching equipment, relays, solid-state components, transducers, resistors, condensers, power amplifiers, transformers, contracts, leads, dashpots, timing devices, computer and microcomputer devices, steel selector tapes, mechanical and electrical driving equipment, signal lamps, and position indicating equipment.

(b) Door operators, car door hangers, car door contacts, door protective devices, load weighing equipment, car frames, car safety mechanisms, platforms, car and counterweight guide shoes including rollers and gibs, and emergency car lighting.

(c) Hoistway door interlocks and hangers, bottom door guides, and auxiliary door closing devices.

(d) Machines, worms, gears, thrust bearings, drive sheaves, drive sheave shaft bearings, brake pulleys, brake coils, contacts, linings, and component parts.

(e) Motors, motor generators, motor windings, rotating elements, commutators, brushes, brush holders, and bearings.

(f) Governor Components, governor sheaves and shaft assemblies, bearings, contacts, governor jaws, deflector or secondary sheaves, car and counterweight buffers, car and counterweight guide rails, car and counterweight sheave assemblies, top and bottom limit switches, governor tension sheave assemblies, and compensating sheave assemblies.

(g) Pumps, pump motors, operating valves, valve motors, leveling valves, plunger packings, exposed piping, above ground plungers and cylinders, and hydraulic fluid tanks.

(h) Escalator handrails, handrail drive chains, handrail brush guards, handrail guide rollers, alignment devices, steps, step treads, step wheels, step chains, step axle bushings, comb plates, floor plates, tracks, external gearing, and drive chains.

(i) Escalator upper drives, upper drive bearings, tension sprocket bearings, upper newel bearings, demarcation lights, and comb lights.

In addition, the Company may be asked to replace all wire ropes or coated steel belts as often as necessary to maintain an appropriate level of safety. This may also include equalizing the tension on hoisting ropes, resocketing ropes for drum machines, and repairing or replacing conductor cables, hoistway, and machine-room elevator wiring.

The selected Company will provide the City with 24-hour,  year-round services to ensure that all emergency needs are immediately met.

Vehicle Tires and Wheel Services

The City of Charlotte’s operates over 6,500 vehicles, including, but not limited to, heavy-duty refuse and recycle trucks, street sweepers, construction equipment, light-duty trucks, trailers, cars, and SUVs.

The City seeks to establish a contract for Vehicle Tires and Wheel Service from qualified vendors. The contract will be for the purchase, delivery, installation, labor-related maintenance, and service calls in compliance with the specifications and terms and conditions outlined in this ITB. The City of Charlotte will match the load, speed, and tread wear ratings to meet the requirements of specific vehicles and applications. All tires offered shall be the latest models available from manufacturers.

Services provided under this ITB will be provided to the City’s Solid Waste Services Department and other City Departments.

Emergency Bagged Ice

The City of Charlotte is looking to receive quotes for Emergency Bagged Ice.   The intent of this resulting contract is to be pre-positioned in the event a state of emergency has been declared by the Governor of North Carolina and/or a federally declared disaster area as designated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).  The Company would be required to deliver bags of ice and a merchandiser for storage to specified locations by a City department during the emergency event.
