Lee S. Dukes WTP HVAC Replacement

Charlotte Water will be replacing the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) unit for the administration building at Lee S. Dukes Water Treatment Plant (WTP).  This project will be an in-kind replacement.

Pump and Motor Repair Service

This project will be to source a company to provide Charlotte Water with an electric pump and motor repair service.  Some work will include repairs on explosion-proof (“EX”)-rated motors designed for use in hazardous areas and motor drive units.  Work shall be performed to achieve a consistent, high-quality repair and/or reconditioning of a failed motor, and shall restore the motor to as-manufactured condition with the least service interruption feasibly possible.  Service shall also include repairs to close-coupled pumps, such as submersible units.

Irwin Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant Cleaning of Process Tanks

Charlotte Water is seeking a company to perform all labor, materials, chemicals, supplies, equipment, transportation, and other incidentals required for the removal, mechanical dewatering, filtrate management, transportation, and disposal of all materials from the Irwin Creek wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) process tanks including six digester tanks and the digested sludge storage tank.

  • Approximately 1,600,000 gallons of sludge
  • Approximate/Average concentration of 3.0%
  • Approximate dewatered sludge concentration of 17.2%
  • Calculated 1,200 approximate wet tons of dewatered sludge/cake disposal
  • Solids capture efficiency of 95% or higher
  • Maximum wash water rate of 60 GPM (for the entire unit, not per belt wash station)

Catawba Pump Station Rehabilitation Project

The Project site is the Catawba Raw Water Pump Station located on Mountain Island Lake, owned & operated by Charlotte Water. The site address is 12548 Pump Station Rd, Charlotte, NC 28216. The work under this project will be primarily in Cells #2 & 3. The electrical work consists of changing the Cell #3 voltage from 2300V to 4160V, including new switchgear, synchronous motor, conduit, cable, etc. as well as re-winding an existing electric pump motor. The civil/mechanical work consists of rebuilding/replacing screens, rehabbing cone valves, and installing a new flow meter vault. The structural work consists of new electrical vault, drywall electrical room, masonry, doors, windows, louvers, and fans. This project also includes upgrades to the fire alarm system for the entire Catawba Pump Station facility.

Water Treatment Valve Rehabilitation Services

Charlotte Water will be seeking a company to inspect Charlotte Water (Water Treatment division) valves for rehabilitation needs in order to maintain their operational status and minimize downtime.  Valves will be disconnected and reconnected by Charlotte Water.
