This contract will install, maintain, and remove/relocate CDOT’s inventory of portable Driver Feedback Signs. These battery-powered radar signs are deployed throughout the city.  The CDOT Traffic Safety Section selects the corridors for up to six weeks per location.

The selected contractor will be responsible for installing the signs in certain locations directed by CDOT, routinely checking the areas they are installed in to ensure they are properly functioning, and once the deployment time has ended for a selected area, removing the signs to be redeployed in another location.

Existing communication endpoints not compatible with the network selected will be replaced. Most residential meters will be replaced; those meters not replaced will require a replacement register compatible with the new endpoints. Commercial meters will receive replacement registers or be replace, depending on compatibility with the selected network solution. The communication network, hourly interval data and customer access portal will improve customer experience, increase billing efficiency and accuracy, reduce system losses and operational expenses, and improve system monitoring and planning.

The Center Lighting Vault Relocation Project will relocate the existing lighting vault, located at the Mid-Field area at CLT Airport to a new proposed location. The project will consist of site work, building work, site utilities, and airfield lighting circuitry.

The selected Final Design Engineer or Engineer of Record (EOR or Consultant) will produce Construction Documents to be issued for competitive bidding of one or multiple construction packages, followed by Conformed or Released for Construction Plans issued to the responsive or responsible bidder for Construction.  The design and documents are to be based on Preliminary Design or bridging documents prepared by the Owner’s Master Civil Engineer (Aviation Consulting Engineers, LLC, or ACE).  The Preliminary Design effort will include completion of the Design Geotechnical Subsurface Investigation, preliminary design plans to a 30% level of completion, pavement design, and preliminary surveys.  Final Design surveys, including pavement tie-ins, etc. will be the responsibility of the Consultant.

The City of Charlotte vendor will provide Services that consist of the removal of concrete tripping hazards from sidewalks, curb ramps, and concrete curbing in the City of Charlotte’s sidewalk system that the City or its agents have identified. The identified concrete tripping hazards will be repaired without use of typical destructive construction methods, i.e. panel demolition and replacement. All work produced shall be compliant with the American with Disabilities Act (“ADA”) requirements for slope and Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements for traction. Tripping hazards are defined as any change in vertical elevation more than 1/4”. The vendor is responsible for all traffic control in accordance with the most recent Work Area Traffic Control Handbook (“WATCH”), which can be found at https://charlottenc.gov/Transportation/Permits/Pages/RightofWayUse.aspx Any debris resulting from the removal of trip hazards shall be disposed of in a legal manner.

While the City is flexible with respect to certain elements of the Citywide Trip Hazard Removal Services, the City has specific requirements and preferences for the Service delivery method.

The City of Charlotte vendor shall identify and repair the trip and fall hazards that are ¼” to 2 ½” in height in the City of Charlotte’s sidewalk system. The City of Charlotte vendor shall repair hazards greater than 2 ½” where the thickness of the concrete is greater than 4″.

  • Communications plan that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion in soliciting proposals

  • Data and reporting in all phases of grant administration (engagement, application, final selection)
    • Demographics (age, race/ethnicity, gender) of applicants and intended audience served
    • Geography of intended audience served
    • Inclusion of diverse communities (examples, not definitive)
