The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) anticipates contracting out the construction of the Hambright Park & Ride.  The proposed Hambright Park and Ride will be an approximately 460 parking space mobility hub to provide rapid transit services to the Town of Huntersville, NC and surrounding areas by utilizing the newly constructed express lane direct connect. The project will also include a new public street to access the site, driver comfort station (driver restroom facilities), internal pedestrian circulation, provisions for a mobility hub for micro-mobility options and/or shared ride services, site security and surveillance, and sustainability components.

Construction of driveway improvements and wheelchair ramps are included in this scope. The construction of the shared-use path will help to improve safety and walking conditions for citizens along this minor thoroughfare. This project will also connect several miles of pedestrian walkways within this area. Old Concord Road Shared-Use Path is considered a high priority project based on CDOT’s sidewalk Priority list and was requested by the residents and business owners in the area. Improvements for Charlotte Water are also included in the project scope. Project Length= .85 miles.

The purpose of the CMPD Animal Care and Control, Phase 3 Expansion project is primarily to provide additional kennels for dogs and reduce the increasing rate of euthanasia.  Secondly, to provide additional space for other animals and improve the efficiencies of operations for the facility.  The expansion of the facility will possibly be located at 2700 Toomey Avenue and the parcel is currently 4.67 acres. This is the old location for the Animal Humane Society.  We are currently in the advanced planning phase to acquire a schematic design to confirm the estimated construction cost.

The Construction delivery system will be Progressive Design Build. It is also anticipated that the city will acquire an Owner’s Advisor to assist with procurement and additional services during design and construction.
