Unspecified Traffic Signal Installation and Maintenance FY2023A

The City operates and maintains 775 traffic signals throughout the City of Charlotte and ensures maintenance is performed on all traffic signals every 12 to 18 months. The contracts will provide maintenance of traffic signals for all  traffic signals in the City. Work includes installation and confirming correct operation of all components.

Specialized Roadway Construction Services FY23A

This unspecified contract will provide horizontal construction services on an as-needed basis to the General Services Department. The work includes: traffic control; erosion control; clearing and grading; drainage; milling; asphalt paving; pavement markings; retaining wall; concrete curb, sidewalk, and driveways; pedestrian refuge island, and wheelchair ramps; utility relocation and installations; and related activities.

Street Resurfacing

This project involves street resurfacing and associated functions throughout the City. The project includes traffic control, asphalt and concrete pavement milling, asphalt paving, base failure repair, asphalt surface treatment, utility adjustments, manhole frame and cover replacements, wheelchair ramp installation, sidewalk, curb repairs, and pavement markings.

Ramp D&E Dual Taxi Lanes

This airfield construction project is to expand portions of the ramp to provide the capability to taxi two aircraft simultaneously around the east perimeter of Concourses D and E. Work includes but is not limited to pavement demolition, grading, airfield PCC pavement section, asphalt shoulders, airfield marking, and airfield electrical.

Carolina Aviation Museum Hangar Restoration – CANCELLED

This project’s purpose is to provide a ‘shell restoration’ of the Historic 1938 Aircraft Hangar located on CLT property and will include adaptive reuse of the hangar to maintain the local historic designation and bring the structure up to code making it shell space ready for future interior upfit.

CMPD Animal Care and Control Compliance & ADA Renovations, Phase II

Phase II Animal Care & Control renovations will address non-compliant issues per the NC Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Animal Welfare Section (NCDA&CS) Inspection reports issued in 2018, 2020, and 2021. Phase II will address renovations for separation of species, inadequate ventilation surfaces not impervious to moisture, slab repair, additional square footage for dog and cat housing, and if funding is available fencing and gate replacement for dog kennels. This phase also will address ADA Barrier renovations to meet international ADA code requirements.

The facility is located at 8315 Byrum Drive, near the airport. This facility is just under 30 years old and the renovations required are a direct response to the NCDA&CS inspection reports. Also, the project will incorporate renovations to address ADA barriers in the facility, such as door hardware, signs, plumbing, minor parking lot curbing, etc.

CMPD background checks will be required for all construction staff, vendors, and anyone occupying the site during construction and deliveries.

Queens Road West Water Pipe Replacement Project

Charlotte Water (CLTWater) is planning to replace water services on Queens Road West between East Boulevard and Selwyn Avenue and water pipes under Queens Road West from Wellesley Avenue to Selwyn Avenue and East Boulevard near Queens Road West. The Queens Water Main Replacement Project’s completed design and construction have not been scheduled yet.
