Electronic Waste Recycling Services RFQ

The City of Charlotte is interested in obtaining solicitations for Electronic Waste Management Services consisting of handling,  transportation, destruction, disposal and recycling of Electronic Waste Materials. Electronic Waste Materials shall include, but not limited to the following:
• Television Sets;
• Computer Processing Units and related equipment;
• Servers:
• Monitors;
• Keyboards;
• Printers (including all ink and toner cartridges);
• Copiers;
• Scanners;
• CD-ROMs;
• Dumb terminals;
• Mouse pads;
• Computer cables;
• Typewriters;
• Battery supplies;
• Cables, Cards and Power Supplies;
• Speakers and related equipment;
• Fax machines;
• VCR and DVD equipment;
• Stereos and related equipment;
• Cameras and related equipment;
• Projection equipment;
• Headphones; and
• Assemblies

Site Clean-Up

This contract will provide for the removal of industrial waste and debris from various Charlotte Water sites. Work may include hazardous material handling and environmental remediation as required. Proper site clean-up ensures compliance with environmental regulations and maintains safe working conditions.

Airport Offsite Composting

The scope of the proposed contract shall be to provide offsite composting services for the Airport (CLT).

Multi-Family Solid Waste Collection Services

Solid Waste Services provides multi-family garbage, recycling, and bulk item collection services through an outside vendor. The vendor will be responsible for the weekly collection and delivery to designated disposal sites for approximately 915 multi-family communities and 110 City facilities. Garbage will be collected in dumpsters and compactors. The contracted vendor will also provide 96-gallon-sized carts for recycling and will be responsible for live Christmas tree collection once per year in January.

Roof and Sealant Replacement (4824 West Blvd)

This contract will be to provide roof and sealant replacement on the building at
4824 West Boulevard for Charlotte Douglas International Airport, Charlotte, North Carolina. This will be a complete removal of existing roofing membrane, insulation, flashings, sheet metal flashings, gutters, and downspouts, and complete removal of all existing backer rod and sealant at exterior wall brick control joints; repair and/or replacement of rusted and/or deteriorated metal deck, and the installation of new insulation, cover board, mechanically fastened 60 mil TPO membrane and associated flashings, sheet metal flashings, gutters and downspouts, and backer rod and sealant at exterior wall brick control joints and all associated miscellaneous work. The contractor must also provide temporary protection of contents in the building and cleanup of debris associated with removals. The roof has exceeded the expected lifespan and is currently 30+ years old. The project term will be 180 days.

Curbside Residential Recycling Services

The City requires a Company to work in conjunction with Solid Waste Services (SWS) to perform Curbside Residential Recycling Collection Services. The Company shall collect all Recyclables generated by customers in the City-provided Recyclables Container and shall be in accordance with Chapter l 0, Article II of the Charlotte Municipal Code. The Company shall perform the work in a competent, qualified, diligent, and efficient manner.

The City uses a Single-Stream Recycling collection system, consisting of fibrous and non­ fibrous materials. The Company will not be required to sort any Recyclables but may have to hand load overflow cardboard left beside the Recyclable Container. It is the purpose of these specifications to provide a framework for accomplishing the tasks that result in maintaining quality, safe, and sanitary Residential Recycling Collection Services for the residents of the City of Charlotte. The intent of the Services is to collect all Recyclables properly placed out for collection within the City limits.

Airport Waste Hauling Services

The scope of this contract shall be for waste hauling and disposal services for the main terminal building, terminal ramp, and outlying properties of the airport campus. This will be a three year contract with the option to renew for two additional one year terms.
