FBO Apron Expansion & Rehab

The Fixed Based Operator (FBO) Apron Expansion & Rehab project will construct additional aircraft parking area on the FBO apron, construct a new taxilane entrance stub to the FBO ramp, widen the existing entrance stub to support Airplane Design Group (ADG) V movements, and rehabilitate select pavements areas on the FBO ramp for Taxiway Design Group (TDG)-V aircraft. The apron expansion will remove an existing trailer office and auto parking space by converting the area to aircraft pavement that will adjoin the Bank of America apron area. The project scope will include building and parking area demolition, security fencing, asphalt and concrete pavement, airfield electrical, and airfield pavement markings.

Secondary PCC Spall Repair Program

The Airfield Maintenance Department of the Facilities Division of CLT maintains hard surface areas of CLT’s airfield, and other areas as-needed. The intent of this solicitation is to select a company to provide repairs utilizing selected construction materials for specific projects at various locations on airport property on an as needed basis during the duration of the scheduled contract. The Scope of Services requires the contractor to furnish all supervision, labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment, and services, and perform and complete all work in an efficient and workmanlike manner necessary to complete construction of the PCC Spall Repair Program.

On-Call Airfield Lighting Maintenance

The Facilities Department of Charlotte Douglas International Airport maintains the airfield, including runways and taxiways and the lights, signs, regulators, and control systems within the AOA. (Aircraft Operational Area). This includes a network of wire and conduit, including cans and manholes. This Contract will be an on-call as-needed basis. It will also include, not be limited to the following: power, distribution, lighting, conduit, panels, equipment connections, and high voltage. Most of this work will be in and on the airfield at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

North End Around Taxiway Early Cabling Project has been combine – CANCELLED

One of seven remaining bid packages within the North End Around Taxiway Program. The construction of the NEAT Early Cabling Project provides for temporary direct-buried power cables from the existing power transformer at the existing RW 36C Approach Localizer Emergency Generator to the existing transformer at the existing Runway 18C Approach Glideslope Shelter in locations with minimal impacts from the proposed NEAT 1st Package construction within the NEAT program.

Ramp D&E Dual Taxi Lanes

This airfield construction project is to expand portions of the ramp to provide the capability to taxi two aircraft simultaneously around the east perimeter of Concourses D and E. Work includes but is not limited to pavement demolition, grading, airfield PCC pavement section, asphalt shoulders, airfield marking, and airfield electrical.

Private Access Drive (Construction)

This is one of seven bid packages within the North End Around Taxiway Program. The construction of the Private Access Drive includes constructing approximately 3,700 feet of a two-lane roadway from the existing traffic roundabout adjacent to the Fuel Farm, along the Long Term 1 Parking Lot and Duke Energy property line and connecting to Wilkinson Boulevard with a redesigned intersection at Barry drive.  This project includes utility relocations, roadway lighting, drainage, new water main and additional parking areas within Long Term 1. The purpose of this project is to construct a new access drive along the western edge of Long Term #1 parking lot to allow Long Term #1 exiting customers access to Wilkinson Blvd as well as access for terminal deliveries and Gate 80 traffic. This work will include roadway, storm drainage, traffic signal, fiber installation, parking lot, water and sewer relocation, and landscaping. The project will include work on Charlotte (CLT) owned property as well as NCDOT owned facilities. Completion of this project allows CLT Airport to take a portion of Old Dowd road out of service for North End Around Taxiway improvements.
