Concourse D Widebody Ground Power Unit (GPU) Electrical Upgrades

The purpose of this solicitation is for the completion of Concourse D Widebody GPU Electrical Upgrades. This will consist of installing seven 150 amp circuits to feed new ground power units in order to support the widebody aircraft consistently parked at these gates.  The estimated contract erm is three months.

Carolina Aviation Museum Hangar Restoration – CANCELLED

This project’s purpose is to provide a ‘shell restoration’ of the Historic 1938 Aircraft Hangar located on CLT property and will include adaptive reuse of the hangar to maintain the local historic designation and bring the structure up to code making it shell space ready for future interior upfit.

Condenser Water Loop System – Concourse E- Phase 9 – Sycamore Brewing & PDQ

The purpose of this contract is to build a complete Condenser Water Loop as designed by AME Consulting Engineers. The system will be designed using a shell and tube heat exchanger connected to the Airport’s Central Chiller Plant, chilled water piping, to provide tempered condenser water for the food concessions, water-cooled, condensing units on walk-in cooler and freezers. Contract term 90 days.

Hidden Valley Firehouse #45

Design and construct a new 2-story, 3-bay firehouse at 14,626 square feet, to be located at 5800 North Tryon Street. This facility will be a new infill firehouse that will alleviate high call volume for surrounding firehouses. A new firehouse must be built when a new “point of dispatch” is required in order to meet response time standards.  The proposed facility will be located on a 2.03-acre parcel that facilitates the redevelopment of abandoned/underutilized sites and vacant sites. This location and site selection shall meet the City of Charlotte Policy for Sustainable City Facilities and Charlotte Fire Department Facilities Master Plan.

This project will pursue LEED certification. The site will incorporate solar panels and a geothermal well system with water source heat pumps.

Ground Power Circuit Upgrades

The intent of this project is to add the required circuits needed to add an additional 90KVA ground power unit to the existing loading bridges B9, B12, B13, B16. The new electrical circuits will be run-up to the rotunda at each loading bridge and terminated in a fused disconnect per the BR+A drawings. The contract term will be eight (8) months.

Variable Frequency Drive Maintenance and Services

The City is seeking firms to provide routine preventive maintenance and repair services for approximately 50 Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), ranging from 208 volts to 460 volts, located at various City facilities, including the Airport.  Brand names include ABB, Danfoss, Mitsubishi, Schneider Electric, and Yaskawa.  VFDs will be checked as needed for a full service of the VFD (cleaning, replacement parts, etc.), and involve inspection, testing, and reporting on each VFD’s condition.  The City uses VFDs in various applications involving pumps and fans for HVAC systems to achieve energy savings.

Add Portable Generator Provisions

This solicitation will be to provide a connection point for a portable generator hookup at our Fleet Maintenance Facility. The desired emergency loads will have to be divided out into an emergency panel and the emergency panel will be supplied by a manual transfer switch. The Airport would like the generator to provide standby power for the fire pump, front office computer loads, shop air compressor, trapeze power throughout the shop, all lighting, tire rack balancer and mounter, oil lube pumps, etc.  The term for this contract is four months.

Zone 4 Field Operations Center (Construction Manager-at-Risk)

The proposed Zone 4 project will include a 36,000 sf operations center, approximately 20,000 sf of pre-engineered metal structures to house open storage, crew storage, raw materials bunkers, two (2) combination trucks, fabrication shop, and two (2) fleet maintenance bays.  The project will also include demolition of existing facilities in a phased approach so as to minimally impact or impede current operations on the site. The project may also include roadway improvements to West Tyvola Road to increase accessibility to the site.

Rodgers Builders was selected as the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR)  for this project.

 

Electrical Maintenance and Repair Services

Charlotte Water facilities, which include wastewater treatment plants (WWTP), water treatment plants (WTP), and large regional and/or submersible Lift Stations, require industrial-grade electrical services. The Company shall provide industrial electrical maintenance and repair services for Charlotte Water’s facilities.
