About the project: The purpose of the Bryant Farms Road Extension, Phase II project is to continue the street connection of Bryant Farms Road between Rea Road and Ardrey Kell Road. The design is anticipated to include a two-lane road with turn lanes, shared-use path on both sides of the road, and improvements at the intersections of Bryant Farms Road with Rea Road, Tom Short Road, and Ardrey Kell Road. The project will also build a crossing over Flat Branch stream and will run adjacent to the Flat Branch Nature Preserve for a portion of the project.
Improvements on Harrisburg Road between Winterwood Place and Sam Dee Road to create a more pedestrian-oriented corridor. Improvements will primarily include shared use path, drainage, curb and gutter, and milling and overlay of asphalt.
Improvements on Harrisburg Road between Ponderosa Pine Lane and Colwick Hill Road, including a pedestrian hybrid beacon in between Denbur Drive and Cedarbrook Drive to create a more pedestrian-oriented corridor. Improvements will primarily include shared use path, sidewalk, drainage, mid-block pedestrian crossing, curb and gutter, and milling and overlay of asphalt.
Improvements on Harrisburg Rd starting near Robinson Church Road and extending to Timbertop Lane to create a more pedestrian-oriented corridor. Improvements will primarily include shared use path, drainage, curb and gutter, and milling and overlay of asphalt.
The project is located at 5430 Amado and in the Pennwood Lane Cul-de-sac and continues through the backyards to provide drainage to the channel downstream. The project involves storm drainage improvements to improve the storm drainage system in the roadway, to repair failing infrastructure and to improve drainage to the downstream channel.
The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) anticipates contracting out the following work:
The CTC Fare Zone Striping project is a part off safety and security improvements at the Charlotte Transportation Center that will include the installation of the following approximate quantities of heated-in-place thermoplastic markings:
-950 linear feet of customized 2′-wide blue striping labeled with “FARE ZONE”;
-470 linear feet of pedestrian crosswalk (8 separate crosswalks); and
-920 linear feet of safety yellow striping for 23 bus bays.
Other additional work includes the installation of 31 yellow truncated domes, removal of existing crosswalk striping, and providing 121 linear feet of additional blue “FARE ZONE” striping to be turned over to CATS.
Heat-in-place thermoplastic will be installed per NCDOT specifications. The crosswalk and truncated dome will match the City of Charlotte Land Development Standards.
