Wilkinson Blvd. Intersection Improvements

This project will consist of roadway construction improvements in two phases/intersections. The first phase will construct new ramps to merge on and off Josh Birmingham Parkway at the eastbound lane of Wilkinson Blvd. There will also be an extension of the existing left turn lanes from the westbound side of Wilkinson Blvd. onto Josh Birmingham Pkwy. The second phase/intersection will include widening of the northbound lanes on Harlee Avenue at Wilkinson Blvd. to include two left turn lanes, one straight through lane and one right turn lane. This project consists of road widening, grading, asphalt paving, concrete curb, pavement markings, and utility coordination.

Robinson Church Road Widening – Phase 1

Widen Robinson Church Road from WT Harris Blvd. to the Plott Road/Highland Avenue intersection from two lanes to three lanes with intermittent islands. Amenities include: curb & gutter, shared-use path, planting strip, underground stormwater filers, accessible ramps, and mid-block crossings. Includes the construction of a roundabout.

Vision Zero Safe to School: WT Harris at Grier

Fixing non-compliant ramps and pedestrian signals at 2 signalized intersections. Curb ramp and sidewalk replacements at multiple unsignalized intersections. Mill & overlay and pavement marking work will be required. Traffic signal wiring/conduit work will be required.

Industry Day Event: Bryant Farms Road Extension Phase 2 – Progressive Design-Build

The City of Charlotte invites interested firms to participate in an Industry Day for the Bryant Farms Road Extension Phase 2 project. This session will provide an overview of the project scope, schedule, and goals, as well as information on the City’s plan to use the Progressive Design-Build (PDB) delivery method in accordance with N.C.G.S. § 143-128.1A.

Participants will learn about:

      • The City’s objectives and priorities for the project
      • The anticipated procurement process and timeline
      • Evaluation criteria and selection process under the PDB approach
      • Opportunities for collaboration and Charlotte Business Inclusion (CBI) participation

A Q&A session will follow the presentation.  All questions and responses will be published on the city’s procurement website to ensure transparency.

About the project: The purpose of the Bryant Farms Road Extension, Phase II project is to continue the street connection of Bryant Farms Road between Rea Road and Ardrey Kell Road. The design is anticipated to include a two-lane road with turn lanes, shared-use path on both sides of the road, and improvements at the intersections of Bryant Farms Road with Rea Road, Tom Short Road, and Ardrey Kell Road. The project will also build a crossing over Flat Branch stream and will run adjacent to the Flat Branch Nature Preserve for a portion of the project.

Pennwood/Amado Storm Drainage Improvement Project

The project is located at 5430 Amado and in the Pennwood Lane Cul-de-sac and continues through the backyards to provide drainage to the channel downstream. The project involves storm drainage improvements to improve the storm drainage system in the roadway, to repair failing infrastructure and to improve drainage to the downstream channel.

Storm Water Repair and Improvement FY2026-B-PR

Work performed under this contract will consist of storm water infrastructure repair and improvement projects within the city limits of Charlotte, NC. Work will involve mobilization, earthwork, drainage structures, storm drain pipe systems, channels, working over, under, near, and around existing private utilities, asphalt paving, concrete flatwork, , and landscaping and any associated work required by the Engineer. Other work may include structural foundation protection, storm water pipe lining, storm water pipe joint and structure repair, water and sewer (relocations, installations and adjustments). Storm Water maintenance work may be located entirely within or a combination of the street right-of-way, private, residential and commercial properties.

Storm Water Repair and Improvement FY2026-C-PR

Work will involve mobilization, earthwork, drainage structures, storm drain pipe systems, channels, working over, under, near, and around existing private utilities, asphalt paving, concrete flatwork, , and landscaping and any associated work required by the Engineer. Other work may include structural foundation protection, storm water pipe lining, storm water pipe joint and structure repair, water and sewer (relocations, installations and adjustments). Storm Water maintenance work may be located entirely within or a combination of the street right-of-way, private, residential and commercial properties.

Storm Water Repair and Improvement FY2026-D (Various Locations)

Work performed under this contract will consist of nine (9) storm drainage improvement projects (point repair) throughout Charlotte, NC as illustrated in the plans of the contract documents. Work will involve mobilization, earthwork, drainage structures, storm drain pipe systems, channels, working over, under, near, and around existing private utilities, asphalt paving, concrete flatwork, landscaping and any associated work required by the respective project plan.
