Work performed under this contract will consist of storm water infrastructure repair and improvement projects within the city limits of Charlotte, NC. Work will involve: mobilization, earthwork, drainage structures, storm drain pipe systems, and channels. Additional work will include: working over, under, near, and around existing private utilities, asphalt paving concrete flatwork, landscaping, and any associated work required by the Engineer. Other work may include structural foundation protection, storm water pipe lining, storm water pipe joint and structure repair, water and sewer (relocations, installations and adjustments). Storm Water maintenance work may be located entirely within the street right-of-way.
Storm Water Repair and Improvement FY2024-C

Marlwood/Waverly (Dredging) Surface Water Quality Improvement Project
The Marlwood/Waverly project area consists of the two ponds, Marlwood Lake located south of Albemarle Road near Marlwood Circle, and Waverly Lake located north of Albemarle Road near Almond Road. The existing ponds have silted in and project improvements include pond dredging to specified projects depths.
Robert L. Smith Park Pond Surface Water Quality Improvement Project
The project is located at Robert L. Smith Park which can be accessed by Little Rock Road and Starnes Road. An existing pond has a breached dam embankment. Project improvements include dam embankment, forebay, outlet structure, and spillway upgrades.
Newell Stream Restoration Project
The Newell Stream Restoration Project is located near WT Harris Boulevard (NC 24) and Old Concord Road along a network of tributaries to Toby Creek. Project improvements include restoring approximately 2,500 LF of degraded stream channel, floodplain, and riparian buffer.
Collective AC Storm Drainage Improvement Program
Collective Storm Drainage Improvement Projects Series AC will involve 3 projects throughout the City of Charlotte, 1925 Arnold Dr, 10112 Fairway Ridge, and 1127 Willhaven Dr. 1925 Arnold Dr will involve new drainage structures and reinforced concrete pipe, a modified pipe alignment, new curb and gutter, concrete driveway replacement, sanitary sewer replacement as well as full depth asphalt replacement along Arnold Dr. 10112 Fairway Ridge will involve new drainage structures and elliptical reinforced concrete pipe, a modified pipe alignment, sanitary sewer replacement, concrete driveway and full depth asphalt replacement along Fairway Ridge. 1127 Willhaven Dr will consist of reinforced concrete pipe and drainage structure installation, ditch grading, full-depth asphalt replacement as well as curb and gutter replacement along Willhaven Drive. There will be 2 culvert replacements not located along Willhaven Drive, 1 will be a driveway culvert located at 5328 Randolph Rd and the other will be crossing under Crestbrook Drive. Both culverts will consist of reinforced concrete pipe, drainage structures, asphalt replacement, and channel grading. The culvert under Crestbrook Drive will also require curb and gutter as well as sidewalk replacement.
Collective AD Storm Drainage Improvement Program
Collective Storm Drainage Improvement Projects Series AC will involve 3 projects throughout the City of Charlotte, 4213 Tipperary Pl, 2607 Vail Ave, 4600 Randolph Rd. 4213 Tipperary Pl will consist of a reinforced box culvert replacement as well as reinforced concrete pipe replacement and realignment, CIPP liner, storm drainage structure replacement, full depth asphalt, curb and gutter, concrete driveway, new sanitary sewer pipe and sanitary sewer structures, as well as sidewalk replacement all along Tipperary Place. 2607 Vail Ave will reroute water along Vaile Ave that will consist of new storm drainage pipe and structures as well as sanitary sewer line replacement, concrete driveway and curb replacement, as well as full depth asphalt replacement. 4600 Randolph Rd will consist of CIPP lining across Randolph Rd, a new reinforced concrete pipe alignment with structures, concrete curb, concrete driveway, full depth asphalt, and ditch work along commercial properties and an apartment complex.

Beatties Ford Sidewalk Phase 1
This project will improve the curbs, driveway, sidewalks and ramps for Beatties Ford Road between Russell Avenue and Lasalle Street. Concrete shall be 6-inch Portland cement, asphalt shall be two-inch course and four-inch intermediate course. Gravel shall be six-inch incidental stone. Limits of proposed slopes are indicated in the plans. The contractor shall maintain erosion control devices in accordance with the appropriate city and state erosion and sediment control ordinances. Contractor shall sawcut existing asphalt and/or concrete surfaces prior to removal unless otherwise directed by the engineer. Project length is 0.281 miles.
