Terrazzo Repair and Installation Services

Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is looking for a firm to provide terrazzo repair services to create and maintain an appearance of a “world class facility” by providing a functional and safe experience for 58 million plus annual passengers.  CLT has approximately 700,000 square feet of terrazzo flooring throughout the main passenger terminal and other property buildings. Repairs may include but are not limited to; cracking, spalling, delamination, holes/voids, damaged cove base and dividers strips.

 

CLT Medic Space Upfit

An existing space within Charlotte Douglas International Airport, located just off the connector on the Ticketing Level between Concourse A and Concourse A Phase 1, is being renovated to support a new MEDIC Breakroom. The space to be renovated has a combination of rubber tile floor/terrazzo, painted drywall, roll-up door, and acoustical tile ceilings. The new space will have kitchenette millwork with a sink, storeroom with shelving, new porcelain tile ADA restroom with sink, toilet, shower and associated plumbing, electrical and data outlets, new lighting, new water heater and new ductwork. The majority of the work will be performed on Ticketing Level within Security Identification Display Area (SIDA). Some plumbing and data work will be performed from Ramp Level within SIDA adjacent and above a baggage handling system makeup carousel.

Terrazzo Maintenance

The scope of this contract shall be to provide Terrazzo Maintenance Services at various locations on the airport’s property.  The services include, but are not limited to, labor, supervision, materials, equipment, chemicals, supplies, and incidentals for complete terrazzo maintenance services at the following locations on airport property: CLT Airport Main Terminal, the Old Terminal, and Express Deck 1. All work is to be performed between 9:30 PM – 5:30 AM, 7 days a week.

To create and maintain an appearance of a “world-class facility” by daily maintenance and cleaning of an estimated 500,000 square feet of Terrazzo flooring to provide a functional and safe experience for 51 million plus annual passengers.

 

 

 

 

Concourse E Renovation (Construction Grant Funded)

Renovations to the public areas including replacement of moving walkways, toilet room renovation and expansion, terrazzo installation in the common circulation areas, ceiling replacement, new wayfinding signage and mechanical, plumbing and electrical work as required to support the renovation.

 The City has established a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation goal of Twelve Percent (12.00%) for this contract. Subcontracting firms must be DBE certified through NCDOT to count towards participation.

Blue Line – Tile Column Repairs

Repair tile columns at 11 Blue Line stations that were installed in 2007. Reasons for repair include vandalism, bullnose wear on top course causing tile failure, and other freeze/thaw issues.

Tile Maintenance and Services

The Building Services Division of the General Services Department/Engineering and Project Management is responsible for maintaining a portfolio of approximately 180 buildings, including offices, fire stations, police division offices, and equipment shops, that house various City activities.  The City also maintains cultural facilities, including museums and arenas that serve as venues for sports, entertainment, and other events.  Contracts resulting from this RFP may be used by various City departments for needs across the entire City organization.

 

The City plans to contract with one or more Companies to provide Tile Maintenance and Services.  The City is seeking firms whose combination of experience and expertise will provide professional, timely, and cost-effective services to the City.

The Company shall supply all required expertise, labor, tools, equipment, materials and services in accordance with plans, specifications, and performance standards and in accordance with good building practice, any and all codes pertaining thereto, and to the satisfaction of the City.  The Company further agrees to obtain all licenses and permits required for the work.
