Elevated Water Storage Tanks Improvements
This project involves the design and construction administration for the rehabilitation of five separate elevated water storage tanks. Each tank will undergo interior and exterior recoating to extend its service life and improve corrosion resistance. The scope also includes the replacement of outdated ladder systems to enhance safety and compliance. Miscellaneous piping repairs will be completed as needed to restore functionality and improve overall system performance. The project is managed to ensure coordination, quality control, and adherence to regulatory standards throughout design and construction.

McDowell Creek WRRF Digesters Rehabilitation
This will be an Invitation to Bid for Charlotte Water. The project will involve the rehabilitation of biosolids treatment facilities at the McDowell Creek Water Resource Recovery Facility. Work will focus on existing digesters and may include structural repairs, floor regrouting, replacement of mechanical components, and upgrades to valves and associated piping. Electrical and instrumentation systems will be reconnected or replaced as needed to support restored operations. These improvements aim to enhance the performance, safety, and reliability of the digester systems and associated infrastructure.

Siphon Cleaning Service
Charlotte Water needs services to clean and inspect sanitary sewer siphons regularly to maintain system performance and prevent overflows. Many siphons are challenging to clean and may require specialized equipment and techniques. The work involves cleaning and inspecting siphons of various sizes and configurations throughout the service area, with verification of their conditions and layouts. Cleaning schedules will be flexible and may include work during nights, weekends, or holidays to reduce service disruptions. In addition to the siphons themselves, the adjacent gravity sewer lines upstream and downstream of each siphon will also be cleaned and inspected. These services are essential to ensure the reliability and proper functioning of the sewer collection system.

Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Facility (ARFF)
This project will construct a new Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Facility (ARFF) at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. The facility will be constructed in a green field site within the airfield. The general scope of the project includes site preparation (grading and drainage), building construction, HVAC, plumbing, asphalt parking lot and roadway paving, electrical, and associated utilities. This project is anticipated to be solicited as a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) alternate procurement method.

NEAT – Overlook Lighting Enhancements
This project will enhance the current lighting around the Overlook site. The scope will include replacing a portion of existing light poles, foundations, and bollards with new poles and fixtures to better illuminate the overlook playground, memorial, and turf area.

Airport Surveillance Radar and Center Lighting Vault Relocation (Desig ... Airport Surveillance Radar and Center Lighting Vault Relocation (Design)
The Center Lighting Vault Relocation Project will relocate the existing lighting vault, located at the Mid-Field area at CLT Airport to a new proposed location. The project will consist of site work, building work, site utilities, and airfield lighting circuitry.
The selected Final Design Engineer or Engineer of Record (EOR or Consultant) will produce construction documents to be issued for competitive bidding of one or multiple construction packages, followed by Conformed or Released for Construction Plans issued to the responsive or responsible bidder for Construction. The design and documents are to be based on preliminary design or bridging documents prepared by the Owner’s Master Civil Engineer (Aviation Consulting Engineers, LLC, or ACE). The preliminary design effort will include completion of the Design Geotechnical Subsurface Investigation, preliminary design plans to a 30% level of completion, pavement design, and preliminary surveys. Final Design surveys, including pavement tie-ins, etc. will be the responsibility of the Consultant.

Firehouse 44
Firehouse 44 will be an integral asset to support Charlotte Fire Department’s efficient response to emergencies in the community; providing a location within the newly developed River District community and expanding their response area in this newly incorporated region of Charlotte. This 14,600 SF, two-story, 3-bay facility will be the first mass timber firehouse in the Southeast US and will meet Living Future’s (LF) Zero Carbon certification for total project embodied carbon. The project will comply with Charlotte’s Sustainable Facilities Policy and fully support the sophisticated and time-sensitive operations of the Fire Department.

CTC Fare Zone Striping
The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) anticipates contracting out the following work:
The CTC Fare Zone Striping project is a part off safety and security improvements at the Charlotte Transportation Center that will include the installation of the following approximate quantities of heated-in-place thermoplastic markings:
-950 linear feet of customized 2′-wide blue striping labeled with “FARE ZONE”;
-470 linear feet of pedestrian crosswalk (8 separate crosswalks); and
-920 linear feet of safety yellow striping for 23 bus bays.
Other additional work includes the installation of 31 yellow truncated domes, removal of existing crosswalk striping, and providing 121 linear feet of additional blue “FARE ZONE” striping to be turned over to CATS.
Heat-in-place thermoplastic will be installed per NCDOT specifications. The crosswalk and truncated dome will match the City of Charlotte Land Development Standards.
PSR # 1917
This contract will be for the design and construction of a gravity outfall sewer along the Rocky River. This project will consist of approximately 3,600 linear feet of 15-inch and 2,400 linear feet of 12-inch gravity sanitary sewer piping. This outfall is tributary to the existing Rocky River outfall in Cabarrus County and Water and Sewer Authority of Cabarrus County (WSACC) Rocky River Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant.
