The purpose and need for this construction project is to improve the storm drainage infrastructure (i.e. pipe systems and culverts) to reduce flooding and to enhance degraded stream reaches to reduce erosion and improve water quality. Hidden Valley Storm Drainage Improvement Project
This project is bordered by Highway I-85 to the north, Cinderella Road to the south, Echo Glen Road to the east, and West Sugar Creek Road to the west. The drainage system consists of open channel and closed pipe systems underneath city-maintained roads. This was previously identified as a major capital project from the watershed ranking prioritization process, scoring 73 of 100. The ranking protocol identifies 18 structures that experience flooding in the 100-year storm event and 7 roads that experience transverse overtopping events that do not meet current standards. The entire neighborhood has received a patchwork of repairs over the years and a holistic project is needed to cost beneficially address the drainage system issues.

The need for this construction project is to improve the storm drainage infrastructure (i.e. pipe systems and culverts) to reduce flooding and to enhance degraded stream reaches to reduce erosion and improve water quality. This project is a collective package of 7 small Storm Drain Improvement projects that will be constructed under one contract. This project package is under review and location and project details will be provided after review is complete.

This project is located near the intersection of Camp Greene Street and Freedom Drive.

This construction project is located near The Plaza and Shamrock Drive and has been identified to address flooding, erosion, and pipe failure in the project area.

This project is located on South Cedar Street between Stadium View Drive and Westmere Avenue. The existing drainage system consists of a culvert under a city-maintained road. The improvements include culvert and pipe system upgrades.

Undercover Vehicle Lease
The City will issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) to select a vendor to provide leased vehicle services. These vehicles are used primarily by the Vice and Narcotics and Gang Units in the specialized undercover investigations. Leasing Vehicles enables Police to rapidly switch out a vehicle if it is identified as an undercover car.

Community Policing Crisis Response Team Services
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s (CMPD’s) Community Policing Crisis Response Team Services (CPCRT) was established to provide improved public safety and service through the deployment of Officers and licensed mental health clinicians. The objective of the CPCRT is to decrease the number of injuries and incarcerated mentally ill individuals by acting as an entry point into mental health treatment.

The City will issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) to select a consultant to facilitate equity training workshops to work with the CMPD to strengthen the knowledge of implicit bias and reduce disproportionality and disparities one class at a time.

The City of Charlotte will be issuing a Request for Proposals on behalf of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department to solicit for a contract with a qualified consulting company that can provide consulting services to develop and implement a CAD Solution to replace and consolidate the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Charlotte Fire Department, and Mecklenburg County Medic respective systems.
