On-Call Materials Testing
As part of the airfield master plan efforts to repair runways, taxiways, shoulders, and apron materials testing is needed to meet inspection requirements for placement of concrete and asphalt. The project includes inspection sample cores and final data reports for all pavement materials placed on the airfield. All work shall conform to FAA circular requirements.

Asphalt Shoulder Rehabilitation-Phase II
As part of the airfield master plan effort to repair runway and taxiway asphalt shoulders asphalt crack seal and replacement is needed to meet Part-139 FAA requirements. This project will re-construct and repair asphalt shoulders for Runway 18R/36L, Runway 18C/36C, Taxiway’s Echo, Whiskey, and Charlie.
The project includes erosion and sedimentation control, airfield asphalt paving and repair which meet FAA circular requirements.

Concourses D & E Conveying Systems Replacements
The project will consist of replacement of 3 moving walkways in Concourse E and modernization of 5 Escalators in Concourse D. The projects may be separate or combined. Minor electrical and waterproofing may be a part of the Concourse D escalator modernization project.

4th Parallel Runway Package 2: Runway
As part of the Fourth Parallel Runway Program at CLT, this construction package will include the construction of new Runway 1C-19C and its connector taxiways. The project includes erosion and sedimentation control, grading, drainage, fencing, vehicle service roads, miscellaneous utilities, airfield concrete and asphalt paving, marking, airfield lighting/signage, and approach lighting infrastructure.

Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Facility (ARFF)
This project will construct a new Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Facility (ARFF) at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. The facility will be constructed in a green field site within the airfield. The general scope of the project includes site preparation (grading and drainage), building construction, HVAC, plumbing, asphalt parking lot and roadway paving, electrical, and associated utilities.

4th Parallel Runway Package 3: Parallel Taxiway and NAVAIDS
As part of the Fourth Parallel Runway Program at CLT, this construction package will include the new West Parallel Taxiway and its connector taxiways. The project includes erosion and sedimentation control, grading, drainage, airfield concrete and asphalt paving, fencing marking, and airfield lighting/signage.
To support CLT’s Fourth Parallel Runway Program, this project will also include the installation of Navigational Aids (NAVAIDs) for the new Fourth Parallel Runway. To support the new Runway 1C-19C, the project requires construction of glide slope, localizer, approach lighting systems, and all associated support structures, access roads, and infrastructure. The general scope of this bid package includes demolition, erosion and sedimentation control, grading, drainage, airfield electrical, vehicle service roads, and utilities.

Snow Removal Equipment and Assistance
The company shall provide equipment, including operators and mechanics as needed on a contingency basis to assist with snow removal on Airport Ramp Area. Company must provide equipment and operators within four (4) hours of notification. The equipment and operators may be required to work in 12-hour shifts, 24-hours per day until conditions are cleared. This will be at the airport’s discretion.

Airfield Deicing Chemicals
Provide airport with liquid and solid deicing chemicals during inclement winter weather events. Liquid and solid deicing chemicals are used throughout the facility to treat surfaces to minimize the formation of ice.

CLT Center Storm Drainage Project
This project is located in a parking lot behind the CLT Center located at 5601 Wilkinson Boulevard in Charlotte, NC. The purpose of the project is to install new pipe to contain and drain runoff from the building to an existing storm drainage system at the rear of the parking lot. The work involves installation of reinforced concrete pipe, storm drainage structures, asphalt surface, and re-striping the parking lot within the construction corridor.

Secondary Airfield PCC Spall Repair Program
The Airfield Maintenance Department of the Facilities Division of CLT maintains hard surface areas of CLT’s airfield, and other areas as-needed. The intent of this solicitation is to select a company to provide repairs utilizing selected construction materials for specific projects at various locations on airport property on an as needed basis during the duration of the scheduled contract. The Scope of Services requires the contractor to furnish all supervision, labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment, and services, and perform and complete all work in an efficient and workmanlike manner necessary to complete construction of the PCC Spall Repair Program.

Center Lighting Vault Relocation (Design)
The Center Lighting Vault Relocation Project will relocate the existing lighting vault, located at the Mid-Field area at CLT Airport to a new proposed location. The project will consist of site work, building work, site utilities, and airfield lighting circuitry.
The selected Final Design Engineer or Engineer of Record (EOR or Consultant) will produce Construction Documents to be issued for competitive bidding of one or multiple construction packages, followed by Conformed or Released for Construction Plans issued to the responsive or responsible bidder for Construction. The design and documents are to be based on Preliminary Design or bridging documents prepared by the Owner’s Master Civil Engineer (Aviation Consulting Engineers, LLC, or ACE). The Preliminary Design effort will include completion of the Design Geotechnical Subsurface Investigation, preliminary design plans to a 30% level of completion, pavement design, and preliminary surveys. Final Design surveys, including pavement tie-ins, etc. will be the responsibility of the Consultant.
As part of the ongoing efforts to ascertain condition of underground utilities, an on call contract for pipe inspection services is needed inclusive of confined space entry, closed circuit television videography, inspection diagrams and condition reports.
