LOADING DOCK EXPANSION
The purpose for the Loading Dock Expansion Project at Charlotte Douglas International Airport is to increase capacity and efficiency at the existing terminal loading dock. The project will modify the existing loading dock facility to provide three additional truck bays (total of five), two service elevators, an extended canopy, and reconfiguration of the loading dock area for more efficient operations and future growth at the Airport.

Airport Surveillance Radar (Design Services)
The Airport Surveillance Radar (ASR) Relocation Project will relocate the existing ASR, located at the Mid-Field area at CLT Airport to a new proposed location near the proposed Airport Overlook Site. The project will consist of site work, tower work, site utilities, and a storage building
The selected Final Design Engineer or Engineer of Record (EOR or Consultant) will produce Construction Documents to be issued for competitive bidding of one or multiple construction packages, followed by Conformed or Released for Construction Plans issued to the responsive or responsible bidder for Construction. The design and documents are to be based on Preliminary Design or bridging documents prepared by the Owner’s Master Civil Engineer (Aviation Consulting Engineers, LLC, or ACE). The Preliminary Design effort will include completion of the Design Geotechnical Subsurface Investigation, preliminary design plans to a 30% level of completion, pavement design, and preliminary surveys. Final Design surveys, including pavement tie-ins, etc. will be the responsibility of the Consultant.
The Josh Birmingham Parkway Cell Lot and Bypass project includes the addition of a commercial vehicle road bypass near Gate 80 that connects the existing Airport Beacon Ln and the lower commercial vehicle entrance at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) terminal. This project will also include a full auxiliary lane along Josh Birmingham Parkway that spans from the Cell Phone Lot and Long Term 1 Bus Exit to the entrance of the Cell Phone Lot. This project includes erosion and sedimentation control, grading, drainage, construction of curb and gutter, landscaping, asphalt paving, utilities, construction of a modular precast block wall, traffic control, relocation of light and banner poles, fencing, and signage.
