Charlotte Water will be seeking companies to provide Ground Maintenance Services at various sites/properties/locations within Mecklenburg County. Depending on the specific property, services may include:

- Lime, Fertilizer, Weed Control, Seed Application and Aeration
- Mulch/Pine Straw Application
- Weed Control Large Scale Chemical Spraying
- Leaf Blowing and Removal
- Dike Wall Spraying
- Cleaning and Removal of Sediment in Duckbills
- Stormwater Outfall Cleaning and Removal of Sediment
- Rough Cut Tractor Mowing
- Bush, Hedge, Tree Trimming and Pruning
- Rain Garden Maintenance
- Signage Upkeep
- Sod Installation
- Gravel and Light Grading
- Snow Removal and Ice Melt Application
- Snake Repellent Application
- Dumped Debris/Trash Removal
- General Site Restorations
The City of Charlotte Department of Transportation (CDOT) is responsible for the removal of snow and ice on City maintained streets. Additional resources are needed to clear streets during extraordinary winter weather events. Contractors provide additional dump truck and plowing equipment with licensed operators to supplement City services.

The company shall provide equipment, including operators and mechanics as needed on a contingency basis to assist with snow removal on Airport Ramp Area. Company must provide equipment and operators within four (4) hours of notification. The equipment and operators may be required to work in 12-hour shifts, 24-hours per day until conditions are cleared. This will be at the airport’s discretion.
The Company shall provide equipment, inclusive of operators and mechanics, as needed on a contingency basis within the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport’s Secure Airfield Area to address snow removal for the Terminal Ramp, Cargo Ramps, Access Routes, Fire Stations, and Fixed Base Operations Areas or as otherwise directed by CLT Staff. Company shall be available to mobilize 24/7, as needed.
This project includes snow removal and/or barricading services by either plowing, sweeping, shoveling, or any combination as may be required to provide safe, clear, and unobstructed foot and vehicle travel at city maintained facilities including, but not limited, to parking lots, parking decks, driveways, sidewalks, stairways, and, in some instances, building entrances.
The selected Company will provide snow removal services on an on-call, as-needed basis. Work will be performed in response to requests made by the City’s Project Manager. All services will require advance authorization. The selected company will provide all personnel, equipment, tools, supplies, supervision, and any other items necessary to perform snow removal services. Rental equipment and subcontracting of portions of the work without specific prior authorization will not be accepted.
